The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Llandecwyn (Gwynedd, Wales) transmitter.

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Patricia Cook: In such situations it is often a useful clue to try and find out if there is a outage to the transmission site. The power operators for some areas, including this one, have look-ups on their websites -- just enter the postcode of the which is given by this site on the page as LL47 6YT.

The look-up page for the local power distributor is:

I've just put that postcode in and got the following response: "Fault Completed -- There was a planned outage in your area which is now complete."

I guess that if you'd done this earlier you'd have found that there was a fault and this would seem to be the reason that the transmitter was off air.

Is this occurring on different? If so, it's likely to be some form of local . If it's about 1 click every two/three seconds or so, it could be an electric fence unit if you are in a rural location.
