Below are all of KMJ, Derby's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.L Howarth: You are likely to be receiving signals from Preselli. Reception on C49 is shown as being variable for your postcode. Use a good quality group B aerial carefully positioned and aligned for best signal pick-up. Also check that no equipment has the RF modulator set around C49.The Digital UK postcode checker shows reception on C42 and C45 deteriorating slightly to become variable in April 2011.

andrew1210: The high power HD mux begins on 22nd June 2011 on C40.As with the other muxes it will be transmitted with a power of 100kW which is 10 times the power of the temporary service on C59.

Wendy: If you are using Oxford there was no change to the signals being transmitted. If you are using Mendip there was no change to MuxA (QVC etc) but MuxD changed to Mux ArqB on a higher frequency (C67).Try doing a manual tune on the frequencies/channels applicable to the transmitter you are using. If you are on Mendip check that no VCR or Sky box has its RF modulator set around C67.

Judy Palmer: If you had perfect reception before rescanning you should still have perfect reception. The only change on PSB muxes was to change ITV2+1 to ITV1+1. I suspect that you may be finding and storing channels from Lancaster or Kendal Fell in the early part of the scan and then overlooking the Kendal signal as a duplicate. With the correct aerial (Group A vertical for Lancaster or group B horizontal for Kendal Fell)the Digital UK postcode checker shows both of the alternative transmitters as offering good reception, but reception would not be good off the side of your Kendal aerial! Is it possible to do a manual tune for C60 and C53 after doing a factory reset to clear the channel list? Otherwise leave the aerial unplugged until the last third of the scan, plugging it back in just before the scan reaches C53.A bit fiddly but it works!

Joanna: Unfortunately both Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells transmitters are PSB only relay sites. It is likely that due to financial constraints they will never transmit the COM muxes. If you have no signal available from a main transmitter which carries the SDN mux your only option for ITV3 will be satellite reception.

Sandy Heath (Central Bedfordshire, England) Full Freeview transWednesday 19 January 2011 7:05PM
Kettering
Frustrated in Kettering: I have just had a look at the Digital Uk predicted reception for NN15 5UR, the central postcode in Kettering. Today ,using Waltham gives 4 muxes whilst Sandy Heath gives 2. After 13th April 2011 Sandy Heath gives the 3 PSB muxes,31st Aug adds MuxA, 14th Sept gives 5 muxes and 23rd November all six. Waltham meanwhile gives all six muxes from 31st August 2011, with reception of MuxA getting better and Mux ArqB deteriorating slightly when Oxford switches over in September.

Stephen johnson: According to the Digital UK postcode checker using Sandy Heath would give the 3 PSB muxes from switchover on 13th April 2011, however it would be 2012 before you could receive all 3 COM muxes. Sutton Coldfield gives all six muxes from switchover on 21st september 2011 with Mux SDN and Mux ArqA on reduced power until November 2011. The eventual signal levels show S/C to be stronger than S/H.

David McGill: It will be necessary to obtain a freeview box with an in-built RF modulator. The output of the box can then be viewed via the aerial socket on the tv.

Pauline Tweddell: According to the Digital UK postcode checker Mux2 is shown as having variable reception at your location and it is expected that reception will deteriorate on Mux1 and Mux2 in september 2011. Are you able to use Bilsdale? Also Emley Moor is shown after switchover in September as offering a full service. (No use at present though) Regarding pupils in the school affecting the signal, if the school is situated in the signal path so the signal travels between the sections of the framework it is possible that people moving about could cause variations to the signal.

John: The COM muxes from The Wrekin do not enter service on the high power channels until switchover has taken place at Sutton Coldfield.
