I have a Panasonic TV with integrated Freeview how can I record Freeview channel
If you want to record Freeview channels you need a device with a Freeview receiver in it. Just as your VCR has its own analogue tuner in it, if you want to record a Freeview channel you need a suitable device.
You can buy PVRs (personal video recorders) or DVD recorders (or combined devices) which are suitable for recording Freeview. I highly recommend the former as no tapes are required and the programs can be chosen to record with a single button press from the electronic programme guide.

LJT: It would be of considerable assistance if you mentioned exactly what model of Panasonic you are referring to, also does this happen when nothing is connected to the AV inputs in question.

My Panosonic DVD and VHS recorder performed so badly after switchover that I smashed it to pieces and threw it on a skip. The colour faded uo and down on most channels and the discs failed half way through programmes so often that recording a series or indeed anything with any degree of consistency became impossible. I now have an excellent TOSHIBA hard drive and disc recorder which also allows you to edit adverts out of recordings after you have recorded programmes and paste them back together again. A delightful device.

Recording freeview programms from my Panasonic tv can only be done when the programm is on screen, yet the manual indicates that recordings can be made when tv is in standby mode, I have connected the DVD recorder as per manual instructions. can you suggest any remedy for this problem.

jmb49: Just out of interest, what page on the manual do you see what you have mentioned being stated?

jmb49: I had a look at the manual and I think its page 40 you are referring
to. Of course the question now is if the recorder you are using is actually stated as being Q-link compatible? because if its not then you will have to set the recorders timer as well as the TV's to make any recordings, albeit the TV can still be in standby for recording.
