I have now lost all signal can you tell me what the problem might be?
Brian Butterworth published on UK Free TV The problem could be one of:
- the aerial has been moved or damaged;
- the cables or connectors that connect the digibox to the aerial are damaged;
- the digibox has broken.
If you have a "spare" digibox you use this to test the aerial connection. Can you still watch analogue TV OK?

I recently purchased a portable TV with built in freeview for my bedroom. At first i could only get 3 freeview channels so purchased a digital aerial thinking this would help. After retuning the TV a few times was then able to get loads of channels but then knocked the aerial over while dusting and now i am back to 3 freeview channels and 4 analogue channels. Have tried retuning again and also moving tv to difference parts of the room but having no luck.

Kelly: Indoor aerials rarely work well, because signals don't pass through the building walls very well. Also, you're usually using them at a height where signals also have to travel through neighbouring buildings. You will get much better results with an external aerial (preferred) or a loft aerial.
There is no such thing as a digital aerial. Aerials work for a range of frequencies, and indoor aerials are usually designed to cover the entire UHF band. Usually, though, more attention is paid to aesthetics - what it looks like - than to function. The elements on an aerial have to be a certain size, and a certain distance apart, for it to work. You can't shrink it below that size. Unfortunately a lot of indoor aerials are too small to really work properly.

Hi Mike thanks for your reply. My postcode is BT30 9NT. My daughters have Freeview boxes in their bedrooms and they have no problems at all so I assumed i would have no problems either.

Kelly: The transmitter is more-or-less due northwest of you. Try to aim the aerial in that direction and ensure that the elements are flat, rods going side-to-side. More height will usually help but keep it away from any metal objects. You probably will have to try several different locations to get good results.
It could be that your bedroom is simply on the wrong side of the house, and signals would have to travel through the other rooms before reaching yours.
As I said, a proper aerial will usually help. Consider asking an installer about a multi-room installation. A roof aerial should give excellent results.
The Divis transmitter will increase in power next year, when the analogue signals are turned off. We don't know the exact dates yet, and Ofcom are still to publish the final channel allocations and power levels for the Ulster TV region.

Yesterday (11 May) we had perfect reception and had experienced no problems - but, while watching a programme on channel 1 at 12.30 p.m we suddenly lost everything with a caption appearing 'no signal': this was the response on which ever channel we tried to view on freeview, and analogue TV gave only a fuzzy pictures. Nothing restored today!
We have checked all cable connections: our aerial is on the roof - out of reach. The green light still shows on freeview box.
Can you please advise?

We are in Southampton - same problem with freeview - ITV and a load of other channels have disappeared - but only on our cheapo Technika TV which has built-in freeview - however the Technica freeview decoder will not accept any signals at less than 85% strength - so it looks like its the tranmitter that's suddenly changed - however I would have thought that the advertisers will realise what's happened and put the pressure on.

i deleted my freeview channels by mistake from my technika tv and it wont let me rescan as saying no signal. I attached a freeview box and it worked no problem. I have also restored tv to factory settings, any suggestions?

Im in bodmin pl31 2ns and I've just bought an indoor aerial , tv and freeview box .
All connections are good but I cant get any channels what so ever . I have mobile internet which recieves good signal yet this doesnt please help ! I need tv !
