How do I change the RF output channel on a Sky Digibox?
Brian Butterworth published on UK Free TV Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Then press [4] to go to the RF output menu.
You can now change the value so that it does not clash with an analogue TV channel or a Freeview multiplex.
HD and "new EPG" boxes
If you have a HD box, press [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]. Nothing is shown on the TV screen until you press the Select button.Then use the [RIGHT] arrow button on the remote until this screen is shown, and press SELECT to change the values:

Hi, I've just installed the new Sky+ HD box but now I can't get anything on my tele upstairs, I have a magic eye that beamed to signal up to the bedroom. I've turned to RF to on but that doesn't make any difference. There's no aerial socket at the back of the new box, where as there was this the old Sky + box. Can anyone help?

Denise: Newer versions of Sky+ HD boxes do not have RF modulators built into the box, therefore you will have to purchase what's known as an I.O. port modulator such as seen in the link.
Lower cost alternatives can be found on places like e-bay or even Amazon.

Hi
I have run a loft box in the loft And fed the sky in to this, the. Run cables to various tv in the house, however there is no power from the loft box to the TVs as the sign eyes are no light. What is wrong?

Dean: If you are meaning that you have have fitted a powered distribution box in the loft, and with the outputs from feeding TV points in the various rooms, the loft boxes "input" being connected into the Sky boxes RF2 output and with the power for this socket having been turned on via the Sky boxes menu, then if there is no DC voltage being supplied to the magic eyes the question would be, did you fit a loft box of the DC pass variety, because if not? the DC coming from the Sky boxes RF2 output will be blocked by the distribution amplifier.

Hi
I have installed the new sky HD box and added the IO port modulator, I have a powered SLX amplifier in the roof space, power is getting to my magic eyes but they are not turning over the sky. The RF port is switched on and the sky eye works when plugged directly into the IO modulator. Any suggestions?

Abbey: This would suggest that the SLX amplifier is killing the control signal, therefore purely for test purposes remove one (if more than one) of the TV output feeds from the SLX amplifier in the loft and connect it directly into the coax that comes up from the Sky boxes RF2 output, i.e: the amp now being out of the equation.
Are you now able to control the Sky box from the remotely positioned TV? remembering that you have to use the Sky boxes remote control and not the TV's.
If you cannot, what brand of I.O. port are you using?, also can you confirm (or not) if the coax from the Sky boxes RF2 output and also from the loft to the secondary TV, is not connected into anything else nor passes through any junction boxes, as although the magic eye might well be illuminated the actual control signal is easily killed off by certain types of cabling, especially if exceptionally lengthy.

Hi I've managed to swap the cables about - I can now get sky and magic eye to work, but I can't get freeview on the other channels, If I swap the cables in the IO Port I can get freeview channels and see the sky channel but magic eye doesn't work. Using the SLx 27824BMG 8 Output 4G Compatible Aerial Distribution Amplifier.

Abbey: Could you please clarify on the following points, when you say that you have managed to swap the cables about and can now get Sky and the magic eye to work, albeit not Freeview via normal aerial, are you meaning swapping cables around on the SLX loft amplifier?.
However, as far as swapping cables on the I.O. port is concerned, apart from the I.O. port jumper lead, this device should only have two ports, one for the input from your Freeview aerial, and the other the "analogue" output to a secondary TV in another location, do you have this type of I.O port? the only reason for enquiring being that a Sky version exists that has RF1 and RF2 outputs to simulate that found on older Sky boxes.
Also, if swapping the cables around on the I.O. port enables you to view Freeview channels (via a normal aerial) as well as Sky channels (with TV changed over to analogue reception), are you able to change channels on the Sky box if you unplug the Freeview aerial connected into the I.O port without touching anything else?

Hi JB, I got fed it with it last night and just connected up my old box to enable viewing. I have the 2 port IO device, I'm not very good with this stuff so bear with me - one of the cables is my roof top aerial and the other is a cable that goes to the distributor in the roofspace. When I swap these 2 cables I get the different results. I assume that the aerial cable should be plugged into the "in" port and then the cable going to the rood space gets plugged into the "out" box. I'll try setting it up later to see how far I get. I've seen on ebay that you can get 3 port device which replicates the existing ports on the old sky box so it might just be simpler to get that??
