My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

We've used Freeview from Emley Moor for several years with no problems, whatever the weather. Two weeks ago, after factory reset, all channels were present but they continuously broke up. This was almost certainly wind related. When the wind dropped things were mostly OK. I assumed the broadcast power level had been reduced. The analogue signal was still perfectly watchable when the wind returned. Note: problem never happened before switch over. I'd heard that the power was going to be higher after phase two (today) so expected things to be as good as pre-SO after factory reset #2, but no. It's a windy evening and all channels are present but unwatchable broken up. channels. When will pre-SO power levels (or whatever else has got worse) be restored?

Hi we're in LU7 0QL and since the DSO on the 14th Sept we are having trouble with all the old BBC channels (MUX 1?). Our problem is all the BBC channels are missing from our EPG guide on our sony RDR-HXD890 Hard disc recorder. We've tried clearing all the old channels and doing the 'easy set up' scan to replace the channels (we couldn't find a factory/default setting)this produced all of the BBC channels but as soon as the machine is turned off or finishes recording and turns itself off automatically we lose all the BBC channels again? so we're rescanning the channels in everyday, but doing this is wiping out any programmes set to record. The Firmware is up to date on the DVD recorder and we've removed our booster. Any ideas? PLEASE HELP!! Many thanks

chris r: You pay your Licence Fee for the BBC to broadcast programmes, you don't pay it for your own personal reception problems to be sorted out.

Briantist: We have followed the above advice step by step (everyday since the 14th sept) but we are still losing all the BBC channels when the DVD recorder is switched to standby. All BBC channels are blank on the EPG.
