My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

I have seen that and also followed the instructions to reset and resacan. Still missing ITV channels. All the channels were back early around 01:00am, and then The signal disappeared for almost all of them around midday today, and now I have the bbc ones back but apart ftom itv3, all itv chaneels plus 5 E4, have either very poor or no signal at all. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to this at all.

Hi
The sound quality on the analogue BBC 1 channel from the Bilsdale transmitter is continually clicking and increasing and decreasing in volume. I understand that engineering work is being carried out this weekend on the transmitter, how long will this fault continue? The fault is affecting several households in my area. Ali this seems to the norm, however we are told it's nothing to do with the transmitters, rest assured it will return as if by magic. You have clearly lost Mux 2, which is the usual one to go.

Ali: It depends on what station you are receiving from, as Rowridge presently indicates good reception across the board except on Mux B(Ch28) which indicates variable until the 7th of next March.
On the other hand if using Mendip, it likewise shows good reception except for Mux A/SDN (Ch62) this showing as poor, with Mux's C/D joining it on 28th September, and all three showing poor reception until March 28th 2012.

hi ive been having problem with my freeview channels for last few months, both my "multiplexes 1" and "multiplexes A" has been missing while the rest of channels worked fine..most of the time. ive tried retune many times at different occassions, most of the time it came to no avail, on rare occasions i get those channels in extremely blurry reception only to be gone entirely after couple days. any help or advice will be appriciated. ps my aerial is on top of the roof and i never used to have problem receiving those channels when i first brought my freeview inbuilt tv.

Wen from the sound of it you do have a problem with your aerial. Do you have any trees in line with the way your aerial points, if there isn't check your tv aerial plug if it comes straight from your aerial with no plates or box's if it is damp or has rust or a milky white substance call a aerial rigger you do have a problem with your aerial.
