My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

I receive channels from Mendip. Since yesterday, my LG 42LB580V-ZM television (about 6 years old, on latest firmware 04.04.27) has goes into a loop of reboots when switching to ITV4+1 or Blaze+1. To break the loop, I have to pull out the aerial cable, which causes the TV to display "no signal". I can then change channels or retune all channels. ITV4+1 or Blaze+1 are both on COM4, but not all COM4 channels are affected. I'm wondering if those channels have started adding data to their bitstream which my TV can't cope with.
Has anyone else seen something like this?

Simon Shearn:
I have had a similar "sort of issue with reboots" on my 2016 43" LG, but not with the particular issue just mentioned, I've just checked both channels 59 & 80 (also from Mendip) and no issues arose, data streams visible stating when they are back on air.
My cure for reboot issues in the past has been switch off and unplug from mains for 10 minutes, but where related to tuning issues I've also cleared current tuning and done a full retune. Try the following -
Unplug the aerial and do a full automatic retune which should clear all existing tuning as no channels are found - check that's happened, then switch off and unplug from the mains for 10 minutes.
Power back up and retune for Mendip's channels ideally do a manual tune for it's UHF channels (in case you can get other transmitters eg.Wenvoe).
Mendip's correct UHF channels are C32, C34, C35, C48, C33, C36, C55, C30. That's is the order PSBs1-3, COMs 4-7, Local mux. Whether you get all muxes especially COM7 and/or the Local mux is location dependent.

I've been watching Murder She Wrote this afternoon and noticed that the continuity announcer keeps giving a synopsis to the previously-aired episode instead of the one coming up! His scripts are out of sync.

Simon Shearn: Since the date of the last sample of SDN I can find, 17 September 2020, superfluous "Data Broadcast ID" descriptors have been added to the PMTs of:
Create & Craft
Blaze+1
TCC
ITVBe+1
ITV4+1
ITV3+1
If the reboots are caused exclusively by these then that might be the reason, but repeated descriptors shouldn't cause problems.

Paul:
The DMAX channel is carried on the ArqB/COM6 multiplex, see https://www.freeview.co.u…als.
Is this the only channel missing, or are you missing others on ArqB?
If I've understood your post correctly, your aerial is pointing at the Isle-of-Wight Rowridge transmitter.
Check in your TV Tuning section that you are tuned to the correct UHF channels for Rowridge, they are -
C24, C27, C21, C25, C22, & C28 that's in multiplex order BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, BBCB HD/PSB3, SDN/COM4, ArqA/COM5, ArqB/COM6.
If your aerial has the rods vertical, then you are very unlikely to get COM7 on UHF C55 which requires the rods to be horizontal but we'd need a full postcode to check predicted reception. You most likely wouldn't get the Local Multiplex on C37 as this is beamed towards the Southampton area (also requires Horizontal polarisation).
There's also been some variable "Tropospheric Ducting" with the recent weather conditions which has been affecting reception of some multiplexes for some viewers at different times. This may persist on and off until Sunday. If you tuned/retuned whilst there was no signal/interference then this often clears the correct tuning so you have to retune again when signals are back to normal which you may have to try several times.
If your set has an auto-retune function, turn it off if possible as it's more trouble than it's worth when such conditions arise.
If the ArqB mux is the only one missing, try a manual tune of UHF C28.

DOUG:
Can't find any current or recent listed issues with the Craigkelly transmitter and it's not been listed for Planned Engineering recently. As you probably know, you shouldn't have any problem with reception from Craigkelly.
Sounds like it would be a good idea to check out your installation.
Check that your downlead looks undamaged and that your aerial seems intact and pointing in the correct direction. Also check all you coax plugs, connections, flyleads etc, unplug connectors check for corrosion or other problems and reconnect them. Flyleads can be a common problem, try swapping them. See what signal strengths (if any) and quality you are getting for the multiplexes shown in your TV's tuning section, this might indicate potential issues with your aerial or downlead.
Aerial mis-alignments, problematic connections, water ingress etc. can seem to affect reception of just AN individual or several multiplexes.
If you've altered anything around in your installation, check that you don't have any HDMI leads close to any aerial or flyleads, especially if the aerial and flyleads aren't high quality double screened types. HDMI is known to sometimes cause interference.
Other than that, if the issues start at the same time of day everyday, then it could be interference. Check your signal strength and quality (or error count) figures when you don't have a problem and compare to when there is a problem. If you find the quality figures drop, then consider what electrical equipment that you or near neighbours, or other premises may have that's coming into use at that time (including lighting).
