My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Freeview invalid EIT character codes update.
New information regarding these errors has emerged.
All the errors so far had been the low-order bytes of the Unicode General Punctuation Block, but not this one:
Al Jazeera Eng, Fri 05 Feb 20:00 - 21:00: Chocolate's Heart Of Darkness
The dark side of a $100 billion industry where enslaved children can still be found toiling the cocoa {0x01}elds for the chocolate we love and crave.
The invalid code in this case is the byte 0x01, which is the low byte of the correct Unicode Character 0xfb01
Unicode Character 0xfb01
Verified here:

So how do Freesat and Sky cope with this odd character?
Freesat replaces it with an underscore:
Al Jazeera Eng, Fri 05 Feb 20:00 - 21:00: Chocolate's Heart Of Darkness
The dark side of a $100 billion industry where enslaved children can still be found toiling the cocoa _elds for the chocolate we love and crave.
Sky replaces it with a question mark:
Al Jazeera Eng Fri 05 Feb 20:00 - 21:00 : Chocolate's Heart Of Darkness
The dark side of a $100 billion industry where enslaved children can still be found toiling the cocoa ?elds for the chocolate we love and crave.
Freeview puts out the invalid code 0x01

Eileen Brown: As you've been having a problem for several weeks, which nobody else seems to be reporting, you most likely have a fault somewhere at your end. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV and make sure that the aerial cable is kept apart from any HDMI cables (which are a common source of interference if they are not well screened).

Eileen Brown:
I would follow the advice given but also note that Bluebell Hill is currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Possible weak signal", so that may be affecting you now, and it's always possible that there might have been a fault affecting only a small area, but not an assumption that is definite.
If at some point, your set auto-retuned (if it does turn off that function - more trouble than it's worth) or you retuned when signals were weak or missing for whatever reason, you may have got tuned to the wrong transmitter with much weaker signals. Also if you are in the Medway area, not all parts get good signals from Bluebell hill. If you provide a full postcode we might be able to advise further.
Check in your TV's tuning section (maybe Signal Strength or Manual Tuning) that you are tuned to the correct UHF channels for Bluebell Hill.
For Bluebell Hill the correct UHF channels are C32, C34, C45, C40, C43, C46, C55, C21 for the multiplexes in the order BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, BBCB HD/PSB3, SDN/COM4, ArqA/COM5, ArqB/COM6, COM7 & the Local multiplex.
Reception of particular multiplexes, especially the temporary COM7 and Local will depend very much on location.

Hello, Is there any chance of getting SONY CLASSIC & BOOM RADIO on the SSANDY HEATH transmitter?

IAN CLEMENTS: If you're referring to the Sony Classic Movies channel, it is broadcast on the local multiples in areas which have a local TV station on Freeview channel 7 or 8. There are no local TV stations broadcast from Sandy Heath, however there is a local mux broadcasting That's TV Cambridge from a transmitter on the edge of the city, which also broadcasts Sony Classic Movies to part of Sandy Heath's coverage area.
