My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Angela Redgrave: As you haven't mentioned it as such, but can it be taken that you did carry actually out a retune "after" having reconnected the aerial?
If though you have, advice regarding reception problems can only be given with knowledge of a persons location, this preferably being in the form of a post code or one from nearby, e.g: a shop/Post office.
By the way, if by any chance you receive Freeview from Winter Hill?, then there has already been a complaint about zero reception of the channels mentioned.

I am only receiving freeview channels on and off. It would seem to me that the trouble started after a local thunderstorm. I live in Banbury this occurs on terrestrial and satellite

A message was coming up on my TV to re-tune my TV
on 25.8.2015 which I did.
I am now having problems with all BBC channels -
they keep breaking up as if there is a problem
with the reception. My TV is quite old, it is a
Panasonic and I have a Humax hard drive box so I
use Freeview.
I have re-tuned the t.v. again but still have the
same problems with BBC.
The BBC channels were ok before I re-installed new
channels.
Can you please help. I live in Bristol BS305XP.

Anne: Advice on problems with reception can only be given with knowledge of a persons location, this preferably provided in the form of a post code or one from somewhere nearby, e.g: a shop / post office, as this then enables access to details of the transmitter covering the area.
However, irrespective of whether or not this information is known, the fact of you having retuned your TV or box whilst the signal was down (irrespective of reason) will have deleted everything stored in the tuner, the result of this action being, that it will "not" now return of its own accord without further retunes being carried out in order to recover the data lost by retuning.

I live in the post code area EX15 1LG and I cannot get ITV4 for the rugby world cup matches. I don't usually watch that channel so I don't know if it is a longstanding problem. All the other channels seem fine.

Averil Brooker: ITV4 (LCN24) is "now" broadcast on the same multiplex as used by ITV1, a retune being required in order to update the programme guide.

Ive been getting a problem recently where the picture freezes and have to retune the freeview box in order to clear it am also getting a problem with the epg where its not showing the programme listing for particular channel then if i scroll through all the channels back to the one showing no information available the information is there
i have a filter fitted to block out the 4g interference but doubt this has to do with the problem also when i have to reboot due to the picture freeze i remove the ariel from the box and switch it off and unplug then plug it back in do a reboot without the ariel then repeat the unplug procedure then refit the ariel and reboot the box this then clears the freeze problem which lasts a week is it the box or the signal to blame?
