My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

We've just got a free view + tv recorder and we have all the channels but when we go onto tv guide all the itv channels, channel 4, E4 etc have "no event available" which means we can't record anything on these channels. I've done a rescan of channels and it's not worked and I've just done a factory reset but it's still the same.. The picture is perfect so I don't understand... Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

dale: 'Channel Zero' carries data services that you have to have the right sort of box to receive. Boxes that don't understand it will just show a blank screen.

Ian: You're in the 'Guildford Notch', an area that was and is not officially served by low-power digital signals. Some people did manage to get signals with very high amounts of amplification, but that will cause distortion, due to overloading, once all signals are using the unrestricted antenna.
If you did get them before Wednesday, the reason is probably that the receiver is being desensitised by the now very loud BBC A transmission.
You will probably have to wait until 22 February to get the ITV1 bundle, plus HD services if your equipment is compatible. The ArqA/Mux C bundle, including Pick TV and Dave, will move to the unrestricted antenna on 4 April, and the remaining services on SDN/Mux A and ArqB/Mux D on 18 April.
For now, ITV1, C4 and C5 are still available on analogue, and should be as good as they were before.

Mike Dimmick: If the high power BBC A multipex on C45 is an issue now (WRT to a receiver being desensitised), how come the analogue service that used it previously didn't cause the same issue?

I have just done a full retune. I'm on the Hannington transmitter. However Muxes A and 2 are pretty much unwatchable as the picture jumped and skips and the 'Signal Level' bar jumps up and down. It used to do this for Mux C but thats now fine. The other muxes are fine.
I have a Hitachi HDB72 Set top box. The funny thing is Mux 2 has always been bad, but Mux A was fine before Christmas. Even changed the flylead and the aerial, even though I'm in a communal flat, is fine. Any solutions? All muxes were fine on the evening of the 8th Feb (the date of the first stage of the switchover), but now is back to the Muxes 2 and A being unwatchable.

hi in the last few days the picture on ITV1 and several other channels was really poor (i've a freeview box but no satellite/cable tv). in the last day or so i've just got a black screen, I did a retune today and followed instructions about completely unplugging the Box and removing the arial to do a scan, and then plugged the arial back in to do another scan. Now the Bundle A Multiplex of channels has completely disappeeared. i know my area GU31 4HZ is due to change over around 29 Feb (i come under Midhurst transmitter) but could I be being affected by recent changes in Guildford or somewhere else? My arial is in the loft so shouldn't have been moved by wind. and I've just checked and I've got ITV 1 and Channel 4 on analog still. do i just wait for the changeover at Midhurst?thanks

Isle Of Skye
I live in Waternish, Isle of Skye at IV55 8GW and can see the Scoval transmitter across Dunvegan Bay. I have a loft aerial and receive excellent signals for commercial stations (Ch 59) all the time. All BBC programmes (Ch 62) are sometimes excellent but break up at other times especially in bad weather conditions. (a) Is there anything I can do to improve matters? and (b) Is the BBC going to improve their transmissions in their coverage of this area?

Just moved in & have non working BT vision too.
Do we need a new aerial?
Any advice welcome, thanks.
