My Sky box has a "no signal message" - what do I do?
If you are getting the message "no signal" this would indicate that there is a problem with the signal from your dish into your box. Even without a card inserted into a Sky Digibox, if there is a signal, you will always get Sky Guide and the free channels.
Try powering off your box, remove the card, check carefully the cables, especially the connection to the dish, reapply the power and then when asked to insert your card you should then be able to see (for example) Sky News on 501 and the BBC News channel on 503.
Once you can see any channel, reinsert your card. This should, after about one minute, give you the channels you expect, such as 103, 104 and 105.

If you continue to get "No signal", you dish may have been misaligned, or there may be a fault with the cables and connectors, or a problem with the Digibox. You can see the signal strength by pressing SERVICES, then 4-SYSTEM SETUP and 6-SIGNAL STRENGTH.

we have no signal due to the fact we moved the box to have a look for the serial number and version number you require for an up date with our h.d box

On a sunny day I lose signal get a " No Satellite signal", this is only on sunny days.

Alan Baud: Thats inclined to indicate that your LNB is defective by failing when hot, but though when it is working carry out a signal check and make sure that both quality and strength are seen to be level pegging around 55% or so minimum level, because if the quality is down then that can indicate that the dish is slightly out of alignment.

linda: ITV1+1 is on channel 131, if you do not see it listed on the channel guide then disconnect your box from the mains supply and leave it for 30 seconds or so before reconnecting it again, then once it starts to respond to the remote control allow it to go through the usual "searching for listings" procedure then check if 131 has returned.

I have Sky+ box and have subscribed to Box Nation, I am getting all Sky channels no problem but now can't get Box Nation due to not receiving signal or so it says but I find this surprising as getting all other channels no problem.

Our Sky tv was freezing,picture going on & off,& we were losing various channels.At first I put it down to the weather ,then wondered if it was our old sky + box.After going through the usual steps to no avail I finally went outside & looked at the dish.After a little pruning of a climbing rose & looking,for the first time,at the dish we have our tv working again.The cables to the dish were very loose & the spirit level showed it to be wonky .We've had sky for 15 years ,so it's not surprising that the dish was suffering having being exposed to the elements .Feeling silly but glad that It was something that I could sort out .
