Will an aerial booster improve my freeview reception?
No, an amplifier won't normally help with a Freeview signal. Can I suggest the following:
1. If you can raise the aerial up by an extra metre or so;
2. Check the direction of the aerial and that the it is either "vertical" or "horizontal" as required.
3. Check that all the connectors and cables are in good condition, look especially for stray wires from the outer shielding on the cable being loose;

shell: Digital UK doesn't know your postcode for some strange reason, Google is OK with it.
You are very close to Sandy Heath, you shouldn't need a booster.

From a stand alone amplified indoor aerial my nana has problems with her signal to her TV. Constant moving of the aerial is required and this still doesn't rectify the issue. Any suggestions of ways to improve it?

MrC: Its quite amazing that an indoor aerial works at all, especially at 34 miles away from the nearest high power station, namely Emley Moor, with the only cure for the problem being to fit an aerial into the loft.
As your Nana is obviously in a good signal area the aerial does not need be anything complex, an ideal one for loft installations seen on the link.

eazy_gee: If you are using a Freeview HD box, you should be able to do a "factory reset" and when you do the "first time scan" you can select the BBC/ITV region you want from the menu displayed.
