Will an aerial booster improve my freeview reception?
No, an amplifier won't normally help with a Freeview signal. Can I suggest the following:
1. If you can raise the aerial up by an extra metre or so;
2. Check the direction of the aerial and that the it is either "vertical" or "horizontal" as required.
3. Check that all the connectors and cables are in good condition, look especially for stray wires from the outer shielding on the cable being loose;

Hello Briantist. I have inbuilt Frreview and live in Swindon. Until 2 days ago I could receive Yesterday and Film 4 but they stopped receiving signal. This had happened before but when I unplugged the aerial, reset the settings and then rescanned, they came back. This time nothing has happened and I cannot even get the channels (12 and 15) up on screen.Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Our aerial is on the roof.We have sky & a tv with built in freeview in our living room & a signal booster.Until recently we had a video recorder with a y splitter that had a coax cable running upstairs into my freeview dvd recorder.I was also able to get it on my TV that has built in freeview,plus I have a sky box which has its own connection to the dish.Since the video broke I can only get sky upstairs & we are going to buy a freeview DVD recorder for downstairs but in the meantime we have a small digibox which I set up so I could get freeview again,the picture keeps breaking up &/or freezing though & I'm unable to receive BBC channels on my TV.Could anyone tell me what is wrong & how I can fix it please?

Thanks for replying.I have looked at the above page & we don't have any of the appliances or phones anywhere near the tv.But when it was connected to the video we didn't have any problems with it then!The coax cable that runs from the splitter has my cable in from upstairs & another cable into the tv but I am unable to tighten the little screw up to the wire,could this be affecting the reception & would it be worth buying a new cable?
