Brian Butterworth published on UK Free TV A recent innovation, audio description helps those with poor eyesight who want to enjoy television.
By selecting an alternative audio track provided for each TV programme, audio description adds a spoken narrative. This provides important plot points that otherwise are visual, such as people entering a scene or a car driving away.
Almost all free digital television boxes support this feature. Once enabled audio description starts automatically for each programme where the broadcaster provides it.

a friend brought me a techwood lcd tv from the uk and now there is no sound output from the tv.it seems most tv repairers in ghana have know idea on how to fix this problem.
can you please suggest any solutions.

I take it you are not talking about Audio Description.
What do you mean by no sound output now?
Did it work originally or has it never worked in Ghana?
TV transmissions in Ghana are PAL B/G.
In the UK they are PAL I.
Therefore the sound system is possibly not compatible with the TV transmission standard in Ghana.
If this is the case modification MAY be possible but you will need to contact an engineer with experience in this field.

john mccrimmon: Very few boxes/TVs have audio description. Those that do may put the setting in different places.
General tips: Look for an 'AD' button or an ear symbol on the remote, or look in Preferences or Settings in the box or TV's menu system.
Receivers should all have some way of selecting which soundtrack to listen to, if more than one is being broadcast - the setting might be in the same menu.
This article talks about selecting it as a separate soundtrack, as if it were premixed, but it's usually carried as a limited extra audio stream that the box or TV has to mix with the regular soundtrack. That way, it uses far less space, but it means the receiver must specifically support AD.

Mike Dimmick: Quite a lot of boxes do support AD, but you sometimes have to enable it as a "language", rather than the much, much easier pressing of the "AD" button.

I have a jvc tv its about 6yrs old I have been in every part of my settings can not find a way to furn off audio descriptive driving me mad I have no AD button nothing...end up missing a lot I want to see because of it
