We are going to need a full postcode to look the predicted reception at your location. It's possible that the current weather conditions with Tropospheric Ducting/Temperature Inversion are causing reception problems.

Why can't they find a frequency to relay the West Regions' News & Weather ? It seems a little odd given its geographical location where the public there live between the two regions and for those living beyond the reach of the respective main transmitters it could at least allow them to see what's occurring not too far away . It's called Public Service after all and if the Salisbury mast used to pick up signals from Mendip in order to relay ch5 , I'm pretty certain a signal could be received from WS. I'd be interested if anyone is interested

But I have no signal on any channel either through my Humax box or direct TV. It was OK this morning until about 9.30am and then I lost everything. My aerial is in the loft and my house is at the top of a hill. Losing the signal is happening more and more frequently. Are you able to help please?

Pam Williamson:
As you say, there doesn't appear to be any reported faults or engineering work having just checked. However with all the disruption that's taken place with the sever weather, reports seem to be sometimes delayed!
Have you altered anything in your setup?
In the meantime, if your reception hasn't returned, I would check that your aerial hasn't been disturbed and pointing in the correct direction with its rtods (or squashed Xs) vertical, and that your downlead looks undamaged (hasn't been chewed by vermin etc.).
Also check all your coax plugs, connections, flyleads etc, unplug connectors check for corrosion or other problems and reconnect them. Flyleads are a common problem, try swapping/changing them. See what signal strengths and quality you are getting for any multiplexes (groups of channels) shown in your TV's tuning section.
Problematic connections, water ingress etc. will affect reception.
Also if you had retuned when you had no signal, it often just clears the correct tuning so you'll need to retune again once you have signal.
