Ray Humphrey: Yes, you are referring to Mux Ch29 which will be on low power until 12th of October of this year, as I likewise (located near Stamford) have very erratic, and sometimes no reception at all from it, nor can I get it from Sandy (Anglia) on my other aerials either as its on lower power there as well.
Thank goodness for Freesat, as ITV3 etc is a popular channel in my household.

Thanks for that jb38. I thought it may have something to do with Ch29 but wasn't sure.

Hi, mostly OK after switchover except that all stations on PSB2 are totally unwatchable now on Freeview, with severe breakup. I am in NG3 and have had no problems with these before. It is infuriating that I can't watch ITV, CH4 or CH5 but can get wonderful reception on cr*p like QVC and Price Drop TV. I assume that this is a temporary problem - please advise.

Judging by the number of problems raised on various switch-over message boards right across the country, would it be not be fair to say that 'going digital' has been nothing short of a disaster for very many people.
How can something so long in the pipeline (allegedly overseen by experts) have caused so many ordinary viewers so much personal time and effort? The simplistic idea that it was just going to be a case of seamlessly replacing one system with another has been shown to be a load of old cobblers: most people just want to be able to turn on their television and get good reception on programmes that they enjoy, not have to endlessly fiddle around with manual tunings, repositioning the aerial or worry about getting 'too strong' a signal (quite the most bizarre notion to any rational mind).

Hi.
I thought DSO had gone fairly well for our house-hold personally, but that was until trying to get the new HD channels.
Both our TVs were supposed to be Full HD, but as they could not have been DVB-T2 complient, a seoerate STB has had to be purchased to get HD Mux BBC B.
Tuned the new box in fine, and a strength of 85%, or thereabouts, was indicated for the HD Stations. The TVs displayed a full 1080p picture on HD (stable, and with good reception), for approx. 2 mins. After this, the box 'crashed', gave a CRC error, and then re-booted. SD was fine on all channels.
This happened repeatedly. I have two identical boxes, so is this a box error, a TV error, or a case of too much signal? Please could anyone with a similar problem say what they did to resolve the issue.
I usually watch TV on a PC, for recording purposes, but found it needed a new card for DVB-T2 reception. This means I have yet to sample the delight of trying to get an HD signal on a PC.
I have to agree with John. To say the DSO period has been well over four years in the implimentation, the whole episode has been an unmitigated disaster! There has been a total lack of co-ordination between Suppliers, Broadcasters, and Manufacturers. Just how my poor elderly Mother would have coped on her own, I do not know. I have had expense upon expense over the past few years, trying to get a decent Digital signal. Now we have no choice, it becomes even more complex. It looks as though we will have to be contented with just five SD Muxs in future. Let's hope Ofcom can step sought the problems out!!!

Mike Dimmick: Thanks for the info.
Perhaps Central (West) ITV HD will be broadcast after DSO at Sutton Coldfield;
Waltham is at present definitely transmitting London ITV HD on Freeview (the local news being London Tonight).
Thank you once again.

all these problems that are stated on here im not experiencing - as an aerial installer I would have thought the phone would be ringing off the hook if everyone was experiencing these issues but it all seems very quiet
Im in sheffield and i have customers on
Sheffield
Belmont
Waltham
Chesterfield transmitters and all is quiet
Emley moor starts this week so see how that goes
The only issues ive seen are within the pages of this forum
so I can only assume for the majority of people switchover has gone smoothly

Hi.
Apparently the boxs I bought Friday to get the HD channels, has a Firmware issue which causes the box to crash after a couple of minutes in HD.
An update exists, which hopefully I can now download and update.
Can I also take this opportunity to thank warmly the hard work put in by the 'experts' Mick Dimmick, and of course, Brian Butterworth. It is only through constant contact with this site, and their invaluable information which has given me such a smooth passage through switchover. Thank you so much to you both for all your tireless work - very, very greatly appreciated!!! (Smiley Face applicable here, if it were possible).
Kindest regards,
Tim.

Ever since BBC1 etc. has relocated to C61 on the Waltham transmitter, the reception has been terrible.
Signal Strenth and Quality goes up and down like a yo-yo.
However, all other Muxes on C29, C54, C56, C57 and C58 are perfect with high rock steady Strength and Quality.
I have done all the necessary resets, rescans etc.
Can anyone explain why this is so?
