Paul: Are you tuned to the correct transmitter? I'm on Waltham, and they seem fine. And no, there has been no change in power.

Have lost BBC 4 HD since the retune in NG7 6HX, on both my Sony TV and Humax FVP4000T. I realise it's changed its Com, but won't come back on 106. (Waltham)
I've done an add channel retune and full retune on both.
Will I have to do a manual add, if so what are the settings (channel, frequency etc)

Freeview Puzzle

I use a Humax HDR-2000T STB set for Waltham and I found that Sky News and a few other channels had dissapeared and just showed a message that no signal was available. When I checked the tuning I found that Waltham ch 56 had changed from SD to HD. I did a complete manual retune and found that ch 37 had also changed - from HD to SD.

What has happened?

Isn't "PickTV" now on 37 rather than 56 ? Does the information need updating or have I missed something ?

Thanks for the comments everyone Re: the Waltham transmitter retune on Feb 7th.
Both my tv and HDR show that there are tuned to 754MHz when I select digital channels that don't work.
(so that's COM8, on UHF channel 56 (754MHz) on Waltham).
So My TV indicates a signal strength changing between 7 and 30 % with a signal quality between 62 to 78 %.
and the picture is ether bloke or blanc or ok foe say 4 seconds Just not watchable.
I have an active Arial splitter which I have swopped for an other with no change to the picture problem.
All other multiplex channels are ok with a singe strength around 98% and quality 100%.
(except the multiplex charring nots TV that has signal strength around 60% and quality 0% that blank all the time). So could it be that my equipment is attenuating 754MHz.
I'm at DE11 7QU. Mu brother is in Tucbrey thither away from the transmitter with no problems.

Hi
Do you know if COM8 from Waltham is now only temporarily on channel 56. Or maybe I mean "is the multiplex that carries BBC Four HD going to stay outside the A group ?".
A friend in a fringe area is about to have an aerial installed for Waltham, I had advised that group A would be preferred going forward as I had believed that Waltham DTT transmissions were all "shrinking" back into group A with the 700MHz clearance changes. Have I told them wrong ?

Andy: COM8 will remain on UHF channel 56 until it closes (some time between mid 2020 and 2022). A wideband type aerial such as a log periodic would be recommended for most viewers (unless they are in a poor signal area).

Noticed we have lost a few channels. Most noticeable are the loss of BBC 1 HD and BBC 2 HD. The numbers 101, 102 etc were still in the channel list but we have "no signal".
I have retuned and turned off and now it doesn't find 101, 102 etc any more when retuning.

Searching the site I concluded we are on the Waltham transmitter.
c29, c31, c37, c49 & c54 are being received.
But c56, c57, c58 have no signals.

Also the channels we pickup on c37 are completely different to the ones listed on the site?
The site states:
55 5STAR+1, 86 More4 1, 95 Freesports, 96 Forces TV, 106 BBC Four HD, 115 BT Showcase HD (not free), 205 CBeebies HD, plus 5 others
But our c37 picks up:
29 E4+1, 723 TalkSport, 12 Dave, 233 Skynews etc.

Has something happened? Why were we fine one day and channels have gone the next?

Al: Retuning was a bad idea as you've now deleted some of your channels which were already correctly tuned. The COM5 and COM8 multiplexes swapped frequency a few weeks ago at Waltham so COM5 is now on UHF channel 37 and COM8 is on 56 (this website doesn't seem to have been updated with any of the recent frequency changes yet) however there has been no change to PSB3 on UHF channel 58 or COM6 on 57 (there are further frequency changes due in early 2020). As there are no transmitter faults showing, start by checking for any loose or damaged cable or connections behind your TV and then follow along the cable as far back as you can safely access towards the aerial.
