Having moved to a new address in Tedburn St Mary 200 maybe 300 yards apart i find we get less freeview channels than before, all of the tv arial installers say it is because the relay transmitter is weak where we are and cannot get a proper signal due to being to low is there anything that can be done about this PLEASE.

Graeme White: You mention about getting less channels. I assume that you are referring to the commercial (COM) channels which are not carried by the Tedburn St Mary relay; it is a Public Service Broadcaster (PSB) transmitter only. This means that it only carries BBC TV and radio, ITV1, ITV2, C4, E4, More4, C5, HD and a few others. Is that what you have?
For an explanation of why this is the case, see here:
Will there ever be more services on the Freeview Light transmitters? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice
Thus, talk of signals being "weak" are (I assume) those of the COMs from main station(s) such as Huntshaw Cross. This could well be due to the terrain. In some areas what can and cannot be picked up can vary house by house where the ground (and surrounding ground) isn't flat.

Graeme White: Can you provide a full postcode please? That's the easiest way to see what the situation is.
If you get all the BBC channels and ITV1, C4, C5, ITV2, C4+1, More 4, E4 and ITV1+1, plus (if you have an HD box) BBC One HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD and 4hd, that's everything transmitted by this transmitter. All other channels are only transmitted by major transmitters like Huntshaw Cross. It may be that you were previously using a main transmitter, but you may now be too far away from it. Coverage can change dramatically over very short distances - Digital UK actually recommend you provide a house number as well as a postcode, as it can affect which grid square you fall into. Grid squares are 100 metres by 100 metres.

Graeme White: It does appear, according to Postcode Checker - Trade View that you can only get the public service channels from Freeview.
However, Freesat can provide lots of extra channels - see Compare Freeview Light and Freesat TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .
