Just moved my Freeview kit from Brentwood to colchester. Its not great kit but it worked fine in Brentwood....in colchester nothing..the scan does not pick up a single channel.
In my opinion the freeview coverage checker is a farce...

Rob, I'm 10 miles outside Colchester and get all channels without difficulty (as I used to do when I lived in Highwoods, Colchester).
Do you have an external aerial?

I see the power of the various channels from Sudbury are marked low or high. I see BBC1 is marked at above average at 7 kw yet ITV1 at 8.1 is low. Can you explain this?
I see Briantist was good enough to answer my query last Oct 26. But I still do not know whether when we go digital if the Dutch transmitters will continue to ruin our reception on the east coast as they do periodically in the summer on analogue.
Can you also please tell me where the signal is coming from for our DAB radio in the Woodbridge area?

Just on the offchance that more people will get to see it, the link below is to a list of Freeview STBs and iDTVs that will NOT WORK after DSO because they cannot cope with the new 8k) transmission mode.

Briantist, Are you aware of any transmitter problems in the area I got BT Vision last week, set up with no problems, getting all channels. The last 4 days, i have had no or limited channels. Also could you advise on highgain or wideband aerial for this area.
