B.BUSSETTI: Scart connection should be used over that of analogue RF out as it provides better quality picture and stereo sound.

In such circumstances the RF out should be set to off, if that is an option.

Hi, we have had imtermittent problems with the TV signal in Painswick near Stroud for months now. We have tried re tuning many times and have fitted signal boosters but we are still having loss of picture, pixelated screens, sound out of step with picture & not sure what to do next.

We have had breaks in our freeview signal since yesterday late afternoon - still happening this morning. All channels are affected. Aerial is on the roof. Have checked and it seems there are no problems on Mendip transmitter, which I believe we receive our signal from.

P Morris:

There are over 1100 transmitters around the UK, some are 'full' service and others are a 'light' service. 30 of the 'full' service transmitters also carry the COM7 and COM8 services. If you receive from a 'light' transmitter, as is the case with the Stroud transmitter, then you are very unlikely to get any more channels unless the commercial programme suppliers decide to have their programmes carried by that transmitter. That is a purely commercial choice they make as it costs them substantial sums to have their programmes broadcast from any transmitter.
