John: Are you referring to analogue from Oxford? as if you are all analogue channels will be getting switched off on the 28th of this month.
The only reason I ask is because of you distinguishing between BBC1 and BBC2, as on digital they are on the same multiplex and as as such have to be the same strength, whereas on analogue they are on separate transmitters.

I tried contacting the 'switchover' people who were unhelpful and just make me think it is one big con to get us to spend money on new equipment - like Watchdog, selling you things you shouldn't need.
I too can't get ITV1, C4, C5 and all the other stations I couldn't get for SIX months last year. Then I got them back, now the switchover has wiped them out again. I think they should be providing a stronger signal, not us having to change equipment that was fine ('coincidentally') up to their switchover date.
I might take my box over to my parent's house, retune there if they have a signal strong enough. If it was working fine pre-14th then WHY did they have to change anything?!?!?! They make such a big fuss about it with TV ads etc, to me it's like celebrating someone else's misfortune which is about to happen and they know it is.

Kathleen: You should have excellent reception of Mux2 from Oxford on C68. Check that you have not stored the channels from Hannington on C43+ instead, as these appear first in the scan. Another possibility is interference from a Sky box is blocking reception of Mux2. C68 is used as the default frequency for the RF modulator on some Sky boxes.

marie: You are currently predicted to have variable reception of Mux2 (ITV1, C4 etc) and MuxD (Film4, ITV4 etc) After switchover you should have excellent reception of the high power Mux D3=4 which replaces Mux2. The COM muxes will unfortunately start off at reduced power and show various changes to reception over time as switchover progresses in other areas.

Kathleen: Pressing the "display" or "info" button on the remote will on some boxes show the transmitter channel or frequency of the mux being viewed. This should be C68 or 850.0MHz when tuned to ITV1. If the box has no facility to display this information when viewing a channel or looking at the channel list, at least when doing a rescan it will display the channel/frequency that it has reached in the scan and list any channels that it has found. As C68 is right at the end of the scan you should not have ITV1, ITV2 C4, C5, more4 etc found until the end of the scan is reached. If these are found near the beginning of the scan (Sandy Heath) or in the middle (Hannington) it would explain why reception is poor. If you are receiving interference on the signal it could be from a neighbour's Sky box as the output signal is quite strong. Are you able to do a manual tune on C68? If you are, it make sure that the correct frequency is being searched for channels and it will be possible to see the strength and quality of the available signal.
