Macca: Yes Macca . Buy a Freesat Recorder and run it from a dish ....great choice of stations but no RTE . Keep your box that gets RTE stations and use both . Wish I could get all RTE stations in East Antrim I have a bit of RTE analogue reception .

Macca: It will depend on the aerial's position and orientation and your location, the distance from a main transmitter and the terrain between you and it. The UK transmitters won't switch over until next year, and it's looking like some time in the autumn since Digital UK haven't announced them yet.

Digital UK's predictor reckons you will have a very good chance of reliable reception from the Camlough and Newry South transmitters, but I'm afraid these will both be 'Freeview Light' transmitters, providing the Public Service multiplexes only. Film4 is on a commercial multiplex.

Macca: You will need a Freeview HD box to pick up the Freeview HD channels, unless your TV is already DVB-T2. The RoI services are MPEG4 on DVB-T.

john ohare: Its also possible that your tuner is being slightly overloaded by the high level of signal being received from the Camlough transmitter located at only 2 miles away, as it transmits on 630 watts compared to Newry Norths 10watts and Newry South's 20watts.
