I'm a little confused as to whether this transmitter (Mynydd Emroch) is actually part of the Kilvey Hill transmitter group as this website suggests it is or if it part of the Carmel transmitter group.
It's Digital Switch-Over date again according to this website says it was 23rd September 2009 which was the DSO date for Carmel.
Kilvey Hill's DSO date was 2 weeks earlier, 9th September 2009.
Which is correct?

It says that in February 2009 Mynydd Emroch was re-attributed from Carmel to Kilvey Hill. It also says that Mynydd Emroch's switchover dates were as Kilvey Hill.

So what you are saying is that despite the fact that Kilvey Hill transmitters switched on 9th September 2009, Mynydd Emroch was a relay of Carmel that switched on 23rd September 2009 and on that date, Mynydd was handed over to Kilvey Hill? Am I right?
Likewise in that Machynlleth and Ynys Pennal were relays of Blaenplwyf but they were handed over to Long Mountain when they switched on 3rd December 2009 and Blaenplwyf switched on 10th March 2010?
Why are some relays re-grouped from one main to another main transmitter in this way?

Stuart O.: No. What I'm saying is that in February 2009 Mynydd Emroch changed from being a relay of Carmel to a relay of Kilvey Hill.
The final stage of Mynydd Emroch's switchover therefore occurred on 9th September (as it was then a relay of Kilvey Hill and had been so for seven months).
As for Machynlleth and Ynys Pennal, they are relays of Long Mountain and, according to the list of analogue transmitters from Ofcom, were so before:

It says that "Before switchover, Long Mountain is technically a relay of Blaenplwyf but at switchover, it becomes line-fed."
So pre-DSO Machynlleth and Ynys Pennal were relays of Blaenplwyf via Long Mountain.
I don't know why some relays are re-attributed from one main transmitter to another; it is a good question and perhaps one of the professionals on here can shed some light on this.
I can appreciate that where such changes mean different regional programming that it might not go down so well! On the other hand, some might be pleased to watch what they see as regional news of more relevance to them.

My reason for thinking that Machynlleth and Ynys Pennal were relays of Long Mountain rather than Blaenplwyf is that they are shown in the same colour as Blaenplwyf and its relays on the Digital UK Transmitter Networks page shown here:

Had they got that map a bit more correct, Machynlleth and Ynys Pennal would be shown in pink, the same colour as Long Mountain and all its other relays, not black, the colour of Blaenplwyf and its 7 relays.
The same goes for Penrhyn-Coch and Trefilan that I had missed out which should also be pink on the map, not black. (LL115FQ)

Hi I live on the afan valley road we just moved there and can only get a really poor quality signal it's like living in the dark ages there is no virgin cable run up there and we cannot get a sky signal due to the mountain behind our house can somebody please please help me surely there must be something or someone that can help.

Sam Coombes: If you cannot receive satellite and you cannot receive reliable terrestrial, then I suppose that the only medium left is the internet.
However, the first thing is to check that your receiver is tuned to the transmitter to which the aerial faces. Also, it may be that the transmitter only carries PSB channels, or that it carries COMs, but that they are likely not to be reliable at your location.

This lists services by multiplex (PSB/COM).
If your transmitter is PSB-only, is it only COMs that are unreliable? If this is the case then the question must be one of can you get a reliable service from the other, full-service, transmitter? If not then you'll only get the PSBs.
Knowledge of your location in the form of postcode may allow a more accurate answer. I have been general because I have no idea which applies due to not knowing your location.

Dave: thanks for the reply after referring to the dtt link you posted it seems we are unable to receive coms is there any way I can do anything to receive them also you mentioned the Internet how do I get high quality live TV through the Internet eg sky sports dave e4 etc... Thanks
