my mum recently had an aerial done, now she recieves west mids news NOT east mids news. the enginneer said its pointing to the sutton coldfield transmitter (cos that was the strongest signal) and assured her that after the switchover she would get east mids news!? right or wrong?

Dee: Yes, from the dates listed above this transmitter will provide the local East Midlands service.

However, if you get a signal from Sutton Coldfield, the aerial will not be pointing in the correct direction.

errr..right... still non the wiser!! still west mids news after switchover, crap reception, pixels and freezing and messages no or bad signal. (not bad reception before switchover..you could watch it!!)

Dee: If you are using the Sutton Coldfield transmitter, then switchover is 7th and 21st September 2011. You have NOT had a switchover event.

Yeh...i thought that, but the picture went SO crap presumed it was the switchover that might have affected it...thanks x
lets hope they boost the signal for west mids cos its really crap at the mo!! fingers crossed she'll get east mids news aswell!! xx

hullo!! Mum got SO fed up about not being able to watch anything from the sutt/cold transmitter cos the signel was so bad....so i shimmied up the loft and stuck an ariel up there to the waltham signel. So she's got good signal on the freeview now!! (no thanks to the freeview help scheme!!) some channels are missing though...5*, sky news, few of the 1tv channels etc...will those appear in the near future? xx

Dee: You will get better services, but from Sutton Coldfield in two weeks time, with all services from Sutton Coldfield being at full power from November 2011.

The signals from Waltham are now at their final power levels.
