Hello. I have recently moved to Carrick On Shannon in Co Leitrim, about 40 miles from the border with Co Fermanagh. I have not yet had time to install a TV aerial, but I am wondering if anyone can tell me what I can expect to receive, what size and type of antenna I should purchase and where should I point it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Keith

Currently receiving freeview from killkeel relay in Co meath Ireland. It says servicing 2500 homes but I reckon this has to be one of the best freeview lite transmitters. Most of the North East Coast from Skerries /Balbriggan /Drogheda and East Dundalk all have there ariels pointed towards Kilkeel. Must be 40-50 thousand houses plus enjoyin at the minute

David Graham: Kilkeel receives its signal from Divis via Killowen Mountain. While it's not possible to see with certainty that the Killowen Mountain site is without power, there have been a number of powercuts in the area this evening. See the NIE Powercheck map: https://powercheck.nienet….uk/

D Graham: BBC are reporting the transmitter as off air due to a fault since 10am today. My guess is that it's either weather related, or the bad weather is preventing or delaying work to fix the fault.

D Graham:

It seems there have been numerous power cuts in the Kilkeel area (never mind the rest of NI !).
I suspect this will have been the reason for the "faults".
The BBC have reported that the transmitter was back on air at 8.21pm.
