Hi folks, after good transmission for over a year from the Kendal relay station I am unable to get good reception on most channels and some, mainly the BBC are useless. I re-tuned today having seen a message on screen a couple of days ago that I should re-tune. It had been a bit patchy before then but after re-tuning it is dreadful. Are there any known problems and, if not, do you have any ideas? Thanks Judy Palmer, Kendal.

Just called Kendal a relay station, but believe I should have said transmitter. It's the one near to Oxenholme.

My post on 'My freeview box....' reset advice above. I followed the reset instructions above - reset twice, no BBC channels (only 10 channels altogether and no radio), the third time 16 channels and 5 radio, but 'no signal' for all of them. What is going on? I had perfectly good TV before resetting as advised today. Should I just wait until tmorrow?

Judy Palmer: If you had perfect reception before rescanning you should still have perfect reception. The only change on PSB muxes was to change ITV2+1 to ITV1+1. I suspect that you may be finding and storing channels from Lancaster or Kendal Fell in the early part of the scan and then overlooking the Kendal signal as a duplicate. With the correct aerial (Group A vertical for Lancaster or group B horizontal for Kendal Fell)the Digital UK postcode checker shows both of the alternative transmitters as offering good reception, but reception would not be good off the side of your Kendal aerial! Is it possible to do a manual tune for C60 and C53 after doing a factory reset to clear the channel list? Otherwise leave the aerial unplugged until the last third of the scan, plugging it back in just before the scan reaches C53.A bit fiddly but it works!

Hi KMJ, tried both of your solutions, the ITV channels were a bit better (signal stength 57% and quality 50-60%) but BBC channels came through on the 800s and didn't work (signal strength for C60 57%, but quality 0-50%). And digital is supposed to be better? Only if you have enough money for very expensive equipment and a personalised aerial man. But (whine...) everything worked before! I'll keep trying J

Hi,I went through the same reset process again this morning to no avail, and then again this evening, and all is now perfectly normal. It would seem, therefore that there was a transmitter problem last night after all. Could I make a suggestion that the transmitter faults are reported onto this website sooner if possible? This would help people to save time and, perhaps, money, and also cut down a bit on the anxiety and allow for a bit more understanding. Thank you
