Shut down of all 4 channels. [Just after Wimbledon started. ] It is still not restored for any of them. We have never been able to get channel 5. We can,t get any digital channels with a Digey Box. When will be able to watch T.V. again?

Hello,
I recently moved to Henley with my fully functional digital TV and freeview box.
However I can only get the 4 analog channels here.
Do I need to change my antenna or wait for the switchover to see any of the Freeview digital channel ?
Thanks

Sorry for the lack of precision.
I thought the same would apply across Henley on Thames.
The code is RG9 1 SJ
Thanks

JBC: Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but the trade reception predictor indicates that nothing at all is possible on that code until next April, and even when it is its a Freeview "Light" transmitter, this meaning that its a PSB only station using three multiplexes. (i.e: limited channels)
Crystal Palace is shown as being possible from 18th of April 2012, but not at levels I would personally consider to be guaranteed glitch free. If I was in your situation I would be considering Freesat as by far the best option.

Thanks JB38,
I am not very keen on putting a satellite dish, so I would be happy to keep the few channels I have now.
If I understand you correctly I do not need to change my old antenna to get the Digital channel, just wait until the switchover
Thanks

JBC: Yes, the dish is the snag for some people as it cant really be classed as an adornment to a property, that is if allowed at all!
And just to confirm, your existing aerial will be OK for Freeview come next April, as it would only require changing if reception from Crystal Palace became a possibility and you decided to use it for a better selection of programmes.

My elderly mother has just bought a LInsar TV with built in DVD. It does not have a built in Freesat we now find. She has a dish with Freesat built into a Panasonic TV in her living room which works well, but we are now being told that to put in cabling necessary for her Kings Road Henley address plus the additional bit necessary for the dish + freesat receiver will cost over £300; and the alternative is a digital aerial but only 8 channels will be available on Freeview: which channels will these be: will she get the 5 main ones plus BBC4/BBC3/More 4/ITV3 for instance? Is this right? Henley is dire reception, I understand. Is it going to improve at all come switchover in April? Is a LInsar TV a reasonable piece of equipment. My mother prefers the built in DVD to avoid complicated extra equipment. Thanks for your help.

jaqueline: You have not provide a postcode so I can't be sure.
Adding an extra connection to a dish should cost around £100, plus the cost of a Freesat box (from £30 for SD).
Freeview Light has the channels listed at the top of the page.
