John Dyer: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Do not attempt to retune.

Just wanted to post back that my missing HD channels have now returned.
The problem was fixed by purchasing and fitting a variable attenuator to my set-top box coax input cable. I reduced the signal strength down to 75% (previously 93%) and then retuned all channels.
FYI the device was a Philex Variable TV Signal Attenuator bought for less than 10 on Amazon.
thanks for your advice.

John Fitzpatrick:
Thank yiou for confirming a good result. It supports what many of us contributors have long been saying that you can have too much signal and that is a common cause of people's reception problems.
Glad it's all working satisfactorily now.

Lost my BBC 1, 2 & 4 channels. Think they have moved to C48 but retune doesn't find them. Any suggestions?

David Boyd: You quite likely have a Group A aerial for the Haslemere relay, which isn't designed to receive UHF channel 48 which is now used for the PSB1 mux. If you don't have satellite or cable, give the Freeview Advice Line (see link below) a call, who can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted free of charge.

Or even a Group K aerial as a wideband isn't needed for this transmitter ;)

Should have added to note that Haslemere is no longer a "Light" transmitter since March 2018 as it now transmits all 6 main Multiplexes.

Have lost signal (strength & quality) since last week (16th October) on ALL the channels from one of the multiplexes on the HASLEMERE transmitter. Signal strength showing great variability second to second between 0 - 12%.
Problem affects ALL channels on the multiplex PSB1/BBCA (both TV and Radio )
Have checked all channels on the other multiplexes and signal strength & quality very good.
