Keith: You'd have to provide a full postcode to see exactly what's available.
The Gorleston-on-Sea transmitter starts to switches to digital on 9 November 2011 (BBC Two switches off, BBC digital services start up), and 23 November (all remaining analogue channels switch off, ITV/C4/C5 digital services and HD services start up). It will be a 'Freeview Light' transmitter, providing only the public-service multiplexes.
The commercial providers are not extending their services to more sites. See Will there ever be more services on the Freeview Light transmitters? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

I live in Gorleston just off the main High Street.
Why can't I get a constant transmission of all channels. I am getting fed up with it, I am paying my tv license for poor quality of viewing. I keep losing the ITV Channels sometimes last 2 days.
Get it sorted.

GARY LOVERIDGE:
This is a free technical helpsite, Arqiva do the transmitter engineering and Freeview do not have it currently listed for Planned Engineering and I can't trace any listed faults at this time.
Depending on your precise location, you might be able to receive 3 different transmitters and so you may not be correctly tuned to the right one for the direction that your aerial is pointing. To advise further we'd need a full postcode to look at predicted reception and also the direction in which your aerial is currently pointing and whether the aerial rods are vertical or horizontal. Any faults on the aerial installation could also affect reception of just one multiplex.
That said, however, there is high pressure centered over the North Sea and the Tropospheric predictions do show that there is some quite strong tropospheric ducting around, and there's currently predicted to be a lift which can be affecting parts of the East coast and hence there may well be interference from other transmitters in Europe or the UK. There were recent signals coming in from Norway.
These tropo conditions could remain for a sew days - although they will be variable, don't always affect all multiplexes, and may only last for seconds, but maybe minutes or hours!
