I have retuned the digital tv with freeview numerous times, we now have only BBC4/009, 011, 019,025, 029, 032, 036, 037; in fact the more often I retune the fewer channels we seem to receive. Please advise. Our post code is G117LH.

Bill Marshall, Kate Mooney: Check that your box or TV is not one of those that does not support the 8K mode. TVs and boxes that do not support the 8k-mode | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice . Make sure that you're doing a full reset (also called full retune, first time installation or default setting) because some boxes won't store channels that they think they already know about.

Kate Mooney: If you had reliable Freeview before this started, it could also be that the signal levels are now too high and overloading the equipment. If you have a booster, try without it. If that doesn't help, or you don't have one, try adding an attenuator.

Check whether they are in the 800 numbers. I tried to set up my neighbour's TV and thought I would be clever by doing a manual scan for channel 62 only (the only channel is use at present from this relay transmitter). This added the BBC channels in the 800s. The answer is a full rescan, with the option to delete/remove all existing programmes (which is what I should have done in the first place). My neigbour was still impressed though!

Mission complete. Anyone using this transmitter and having trouble should clear all the channels and do a manual retune of channels 50 and 59 (plus channel 55 if you have HD) to eliminate weaker signals received from other transmitters.

You may jumped the gun as DSO stage 2 took place in the early hours of 22 June (later in the day for the relays). Try again today and report back if you are still having problems.

If you had all the Freeview channels before, you cannot have been using Glasgow West Central transmitter as it did not transmit digital until the switchover took place. I assume you were using Black Hill or Darvel. I suggest you try to work that out by checking the direction your aerial is pointed. You could then look at the page in this website for the appropriate transmitter and find out the multiplex (channel) numbers then try a manual retune for these channels only. Before doing that you need to clear out everything. That involves either a factory reset or rescan with the aerial unplugged. I would do both to make sure. I had a few problems that I resolved in the way suggested.
