Recently had a new aerial fitted for digital viewing and new tv with freeview. No problems whatsoever and the quality of all the channels were very good. Since the 20th April I have retuned the tv many times and the picture quality of ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 has been just about watchable during the day but totally useless at night. Whatever has happened has knocked my confidence with the Fenton transmitter. Is this poor reception going to improve or do I need to move to a better transmitter?

G Jackson: Basically, yes, you need to use either the Sutton Coldfield or Winter Hill transmitters if you want reliable reception.

Hey there, woke up on saturday morning to find all of our digital channels losing signal, pixellating, glitching, sound cutting out etc, still bad this morning (sunday)
Tried the reset procedure to no avail, the winds were quite high but nothing compared to over winter, only live around 3 miles from the transmitter.
I have noticed that the aerial cable isnt clipped to the front of the house too well so am going to clip that today, (would that affect it?) it is swinging quite freely around 12 feet up, but hasnt been an issue before.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Andrew

I have not recieved ITV1, channel 4 or 5 in over a week since the digital retune date. Do you know when these channels will return to my tv?

Joe Nguyen: Did you perform a full factory reset of your box? Some boxes will reject a new location for channels that they already think they know about. You have to clear out the previously-stored data for them to pick up the new locations.
On some boxes this is called a Default Setting or a First-Time Installation. You might also be able to delete the channels individually.
There's a chance that your box has decided to store a copy from a different transmitter, if it's on a lower channel or if it happened to be better at the time you retuned it - there were some odd weather conditions around the retune date. If the channels appear in the guide at numbers 3/4/5 but just don't work, check that it's on UHF channel 33. See if there's another copy of the channels at number 800 in the guide, and if they work. If 3/4/5 are not on C33, or if there's a working copy somewhere else in the guide, see Digital Region Overlap for information.
Finally, check other equipment to see if something else is outputting on C33 or C34 and interfering with this multiplex. See Single Frequency Interference for more on this topic.

My roof aerial is set on Fenton, up until April 20th everthing was fine, but since then channel's 3,4 & 5 and their derivatives suffer from break up at times. I have re-tuned several times and done a factory reset but to no avail. Do I now need to get the aerial reset to Sutton Coldfield?

Thankyou for that Brian, Don't know if I am missing something here. I have a JVC VCR and a Sagemcom Freeview+ recorder connected, does the write up suggest that one of these may be my problem?
Thankyou in advance.
Paul

Paul Deaville: Yes, it could be the VCR RF output. Try powering it off.
