Gem: I think your devices might be picking up the signal from Belmont transmitter as well. This serves Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, although there is significant overlap in South and West Yorkshire. See this page:

Page 12 talks about "Network selection". Do you get this during setup and if so, does it consist of two entries: "East Yorks & Lincolnshire" and "Yorkshire" ? If so, then you need to select "Yorkshire" which is Emley Moor (E Yorks/Lincs is Belmont).

Thanks Dave, I don't get the option to select a transmitter.
My husband said that they used to be two options (and yes one was the lincs one) but when I have returned recently it doesn't give me any option so I presume it is just picking up the one now. I'm not sure how to tell which one?

Just occured to me that we get Look North so I guess that means we are receiving from the Emley Moor Transmitter? Would that be right?

Gem: Some devices do give the option to select transmitter, but the transmitters aren't identified by their name, but by the (principal) area they serve. Hence Belmont is E Yorks/Lincs.
Belmont transmits a different edition of Look North to that from Emley.
Having read the instructions for your model, I think that you need to do another autosetup and this time select "Yorkshire" as your network (rather than East Yorkshire/Lincolnshire).

Gem: Sorry, I didn't take note of what you said above; that your husband has carried out a retune and that it didn't ask which network to go for. You asked how to find out if it's now tuned to the correct signal (Emley Moor).
The answer is probably to go to the "Signal quality" meter for some channels. On BBC One, it should say 47 for UHF Channel. For ITV1 it is 47. For HD channels it is 41. For ITV2 it is 51. For Pick TV it is 52 and for Yesterday it is 48.

Thank you, We have good signal from channel 44 but nothing from channel 41.
How do we go about fixing this? is it the position of our ariel or do we need a new one maybe?
BTW I was mistaken about film4 we do have that, it just the HD channels I am missing.

Gem: I wouldn't be suspecting the aerial at this stage.
Can you go to Channel 41 manually? Page 13 of the manual suggests that you can and see the strength/quality for it.
Have you got anything else connected to your aerial (e.g. does it go via a Sky box or booster)? Do you have another (preferably roof-top/fixed) aerial you could try which supplies another room?
What percentage signal strength are you getting on the multiplexes you pick up? Check out BBC1, ITV1, ITV2, Pick TV and Yesterday as these are all on different multiplexes.

I've started to get a message today saying I'm going to lose channels on 23rd November. I thought Emley Moor switchover was now complete? Is there still further work to do?
Also - on some channels (mostly ITV) i get the bessage box after changing channels, but it just says "Msg". Pressing yellow clears it but it's blooming annoying! It only happens on my LG 50" plasma Other tellys in the house are fine. any ideas?

Iain nicol: Emley Moor has finished switchover and all channels are in their final position.
However, 23rd November is the date that some of the channels from Belmont (in Lincolnshire) changes, which could perhaps explain that message.
If the main channels you have stored aren't from Belmont, then perhaps those in the 800s are and the message pertains to them.
