The symbol shows the location of the Divis (Northern Ireland) transmitter which serves 440,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Divis (Northern Ireland) mast?

Gavin!

COM 6 multiplex is on UHF Channel 29 from Divis at 50,000 watts where as LBT multiplex is on UHF Channel 30 at 5,000 watts but I would be very surprised if it is interference from COM 6 multiplex. The test signal with me in North Belfast on EPG 791 and 792 seem to be fine here.

Yep, breaking up here today again.

It's the signal quality that appears to be fluctuating widely rather than the strength so it may be part of the testing process.

I've also noticed some receivers are better at receiving it than others.

Hannah! Your location is Annalong from your postcode. I take it that you get your Freeview TV signal from the Kilkeel transmitter. If this is correct there doesn't appear to be any problems at this transmitter. The transmitter is a Freeview Light Transmitter which will only carry fewer channels than Divis. If you know about UHF channels the Kilkeel Transmitter uses three UHF Channels to supply 40 stations on UHF channels: 39, 42 and 45. Have a look at the link: Kilkeel (Northern Ireland) Freeview Light transmitter | ukfree.tv - 11 years of independent, free digital TV advice

I hope you get your problem sorted!

This is very wierd though. Last night C30 was sitting firmly on 50% strength & 90-100% quality with no picture breakup. Then, without warning, it dropped to 0%/0% and disappeared for half a minute or so before returning at the previous levels. This happened a few times while I was monitoring it.

Nothing weird: just that your receiver is right on its decoding threshold & a small drop in signal is enough for it to lose signal lock.

Most receivers will go from 100 - 0% with very little provocation.

Hi James Vance!

I live quite close-by your address and can I start by asking you for the make and model of the TV you bought. This will tell me what stations you will be able to receive.

It depends on the type of tuner in the set so that is why I ask the question. Your area is served by the Divis Digital Freeview transmitter but depending on the make and model of your set you may be able to also receive the 3 RTE/TG4 stations transmitted from Black Mountain (NI Mini Multiplex).

I used No: 27 in your street to get the information contained in this link: Coverage Checker - Detailed View

This is the Digital UK site's Post Code checker.

Have a look at this link and get back to me.
