Significant increase in BT23 area for us on channels such as Dave, PickTV (all the weaker ones). We are positioned hight in behind a hill and have gone from 35 - 40% up to 81% signal strength. Hopefully that will be the end of breakup due to poor signal strength.

Sorry for cross posting, I made a few posts on the Clermont Carn page but its more relevant here;

In case this is helpful to someone else trying to get the NIMM. My earlier post details signal levels but 35% on C39 and 80% all others.

I use a variable signal booster to feed a loftbox and 4 other rooms. If I adjust the booster down to a point where signal level is 60% on main channels ( and all work well ), the RTE mux disappears.

Hi, I can get RTE ok so I assume this means my HD TV has a HD receiver but I cannot get any HD channels. I've tried the Freeview reset procedure but still can't get BBC HD. any thing else worth trying?

Frankie T: Unfortunately the 'HD TV' logo was defined by a Europe-wide body a few years before the UK regulator and broadcasters decided how we would transmit HD. The 'HD TV' logo only requires support for MPEG-4 AVC video transmitted in DVB-T multiplexes. The UK HD services use the newer DVB-T2 standard. It's quite likely that your TV doesn't support it. Look for the 'Freeview HD' logo or check for DVB-T2 support in the manual.

Transmissions in the Republic of Ireland use the MPEG-4 AVC standard in DVB-T multiplexes, so your TV can pick them up. RT transmitted from UK transmitters, the 'Northern Ireland Mini-Mux' or NIMM, uses DVB-T2.

Thanks Mike, At least now I know not to waste more time trying. Picked what looks like a great PVR on a popular shopping web site.

jerry: You need a Freeview box that supports MPEG4 to receive a picture on RTE. Either a BT vision box or a Freeview HD box would be suitable, otherwise a use Saorview box.

Fergus Maunsell: Your TV appears to be listed as "HD ready" which means that it is ready to display a HD picture when fed via the HDMI connection with a suitable HD source, such as a Freeview HD box, HD satellite box or blu-ray player. You need a Freeview HD box (or receiver with in-built tuner which supports DVB-T2) to receive both the Freeview HD channels from Divis and the NIMM from Black Mountain.
