I'd love switchover to be May 2012 as well Conor, but I think the October dates are set in stone now. Can't see it being brought forward.
Hopefully, UTV HD will become available (still nothing about it on Digital UK) at switchover, both on Freeview and digital satellite (Sky and Freesat).
It's an absolute disgrace NI viewers don't have access to channel 3 HD on either the Sky or Freesat EPG after all this time.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Peter Henderson: You can watch ITV HD in Northern Ireland if you use the "more channels" option on Sky/fSfS or "non-Freesat mode" for Freesat.
It's on 10832 H 22000-5/6

Yes, I know Brian, but you can't record it on Sky Plus since it's not on the EPG (neither is there any programme info), which is a real pain in the neck.
It's a disgrace that UTV HD isn't available on either the Sky or Freesat EPGs after all this time (it must be at least years now). It should have been sorted out ages ago.
It's launch on Virgin was a farce (who did UTV think they were trying to fool ?).
Neither is there any mention of it appearing on Freeview HD after DSO, at least not according to Digital UK's postcode checker.
Hopefully, Digital UK are wrong, but I wouldn't hold my breath, knowing UTV.
Personally, I wouldn't care if we had ITV 1 Northern Ireland in the province.

Peter Henderson: I suspect you will find UTV HD on Freeview HD after switchover, the main reason for it not being there now is that there are no Freeview HD signals in Northern Ireland yet.
The satellite issue will be the usual "dispute with Sky" reasons.
I'm not sure what the issues with Virgin Media are for UTV HD.

Brian: Then why are Digital UK still stating that NI viewrs will have only 3 HD channels, post DSO (in my case on both Carnmoney Hill and Divis) when I enter my postcode ?
It appears, at least according to Digital UK, that UTV HD on Freeview HD at digital switchover is not a certainty.

Peter Henderson: Perhaps they have not updated their system. UTV legally has the allocation for a slot on the Freeview HD multiplex, as it is the "Channel 3 licence holder" in the province.
