no i have lots of chanels but not all freeview pitchure pritty good but could be better have retuened two times but still get low signail message

john g: Have you used Freeview before in this particular room? Or do you have another Freeview box or TV you can try? If so, what signal strength do you get on the other TV/box when connected to the same aerial in the same room?

I live in Horley and bought a new Logic TV about 2 months ago. Has been fine until last week or so. It seems to be getting interference which is getting worse. The picture gets lines through it and the sound just makes squeaking noises (like a mouse!) I have other televisions in the house and they all still work fine. They all run off a 4 way booster. I have rung the TV company and they said that it could be a weak signal-what would be the best digital TV ariel for this area?

Steve James: First off, I would check that it is tuned to the transmitter to which your aerial faces.
At your location their would appear to be two main contenders which are only 25 degrees apart and probably quite strong.
Reigate transmitter broadcasts on channels above those of Crystal Palace for PSB channels (BBC, ITV, C4 etc), so maybe your aerial faces Reigate and your TV has tuned to Crystal Palace.
You need to view the signal strength screen whilst on the following and cross-reference to see if it is the correct transmitter or not:
BBC One, ITV1, BBC One HD (if applicable), ITV3, Pick TV, Film4
For Crystal Palace, the six channel numbers are 23, 26, 30(HD), 25, 22, 28
For Reigate the six channel numbers are 60, 57, 53(HD), 21, 24, 27
Crystal Palace is on a bearing of 346 degrees with aerial horizontal.
Reigate is on a bearing of 11 degrees with aerial vertical.

Steve James: You are predicted to be able to receive from both Reigate and Crystal Palace transmitters, with good reception from whichever has the aerial directed to it. Check that the TV is tuned to the correct transmitter for the aerial. For CP, aerial set for horizontal polarisation, use C23, C26, C22, C25, C28 plus C30(HD). Reigate ,if your aerial is set for vertical polarisation uses C60, C57, C21, C24, C27 plus for HD C53.

will freeveiw be boosted any more? i live in north hampshire gundleton, yet freeveiw is awfull dispite a new antenna set up, yet on the old system i could recieve both hannington & crystal palace fine , i can only get very iffy signals on digi from hannington now :-(

james: Why did you change the antenna if it used to work fine with analogue? Reception of the PSB muxes from most transmitters is similar to the former analogue coverage. The COM muxes could, admittedly be less reliable due to frequency sharing with other nearby transmitters. Depending on your exact location Rowridge comes into the equation, with the COM muxes sharing the same frequencies with Crystal Palace. RowridgeVP might offer a more reliable signal than CP. What direction do your neighbours' aerials point in? More accurate advice can be given with knowledge of your postcode, or that of a nearby public building from which predicted reception for your location can be obtained.
