Matt: That is correct, you won't get reasonable Multiplex 2 (D3+4) until switchover on the 20th July 2011 from the new Clacton transmitter at your new postcode.

Hi Briantist, is this why I can rarely get anything other than BBC channels now. Problem started a few weeks ago with things breaking up on E4, but in the last couple of days I've got no signal for the vast majority of the channels I used to get even with a relatively new digital aerial and a retune?
Do you think this will go on until July?
thanks
Corinne

Corinne Bradd: Yes, this is much as you might expect until the Clacton transmitter comes on next month. Then you will get the HD transmissions and the 3+4 multiplex, but you will not be able to receive any more channels, without using Freesat.

I have a samsung dvd recorder with freeview but due to an inherent fault that samsung refuse to aknowledge I am unable to retune properly as it thinks the unit is in Austria.
I can manually retune but need the frequencies of channels and bandwidth. Ive found the channels needed via the switchover site but hope that inputting these may allow me to get freeview back working.

Hi Kevin, I'd give Clacton a try, it's much stronger than Sudbury where I am in Thorpe and you should get line of sight if you are on the seafront side of Dovercourt
