JOE: No. COM7 and COM8 are likely to have a short lifespan though; expect things to be replanned around 2018.

hi itv channel 4 channel 5 and a few other channels have disappeared. bbc 1 and 2 have interference. I have tried all the things you listed above with no difference we had a digital aerial fitted 8 years ago with a booster that sits on a three meter pole on top of the house . I have spoken to next door neighbour and they are having the same problems

Pam Butler:
If you look at Full service Freeview transmitters it will show that you need a Wide Band aerial set for vertical polarisation signals.A log-periodic aerial would be ideal as that will be suitable for all foreseeable transmissions predicted currently up until around 2020.

Pam Butler : Fully agree with MikeP's recommendation, two examples of the type of aerial referred to seen by opening the undermentioned link, both of (DM18 or Log36) being entirely suitable for the purpose intended.
That said, Chesterfield can be a very iffy area for reception dependant on where a person happens to reside, the problem basically caused by the nature of the terrain, i.e: very hilly within short distances, plus its also an area rich in vegetation in the form of numerous trees, a combination of both having the potential of creating problems with reception.
However, if you are aware that reception is possible in your area? and that the line of sight to the transmitter (located on top of the hill) is not completely blocked by either of that mentioned, then the aerials referred to in the first paragraph will be perfectly suffice for your requirements.

transmitter. Am I alone in having these problems?

tim hopkinson: Hi Tim. I quote from the Digital UK website: "Latest News: Viewers in some parts of the UK may experience temporary disruption to their TV signal today due to high atmospheric pressure. We advise that you do not retune - reception will return to normal once this weather system passes." Weather forecasters are predicting that by Saturday the high pressure weather system will have passed us by. Richard, Norwich.
