We have started having problems over the last few weeks receiving all the digital channels whereas everything was fine before - any suggestions or anybody else experiencing the same thing? The problem is most definitely not the set as two identical tv's (Hannspree digital tv's about three years old) both exhibit the same symptoms. Rescanning the channels also does not help. We live in B61 in Catshill, Bromsgrove.

Well, as we're not far from it, I kinda assumed we would be pointed at the Bromsgrove transmitter? ........ the aerial is in the loft - as I said we were fine until a few weeks ago, which seems a bit odd.

Logomage: If you've lost the channels on the SDN multiplex (e.g. ITV3) or on ArqA (e.g. Pick TV, Dave), it's probably down to the change of FEC mode. This change has increased the capacity but made it more difficult to receive these multiplexes.
The Forward Error Correction mode controls how much redundant data is transmitted to allow the receiver to detect and automatically correct errors. With less FEC data, fewer errors can be corrected.
You will always get better results with the aerial outside. Consider that as an option. If you really can't do that, see http://www.wrightsaerials….pdf .
Also, note that if you are using Bromsgrove (the aerial should be oriented with the elements running up-and-down, rather than side-to-side, and it should be pointing roughly south-west), the aerial group changed at switchover. The PSB multiplexes are still within Group A, which was all you needed for analogue and for digital before switchover, but the commercial multiplexes SDN, ArqA and ArqB are now in Group B. You should consider getting a Group K or wideband aerial if the old aerial was Group A.

Logomage: Bromsgrove SDN and ArqA switched FEC mode on 1 May. Sutton Coldfield changed on 24 April. So far the new capacity isn't being used, but now that nearly 90% of the country has switched over, services might launch soon, though after the Olympics is now more likely.

Hi, I have recently lost all my HD channels. All other channels from bromsgrove are good, with strength 75 and quality 100. Just get 0 strength and quality on channel 30. I have a booster that gives a strength boost from about 40 to 75. I have checked all cables and tried without booster. Despite a reset and retune I still have had no joy. Last week it worked fine but now nothing! I can pick up a weaker HD signal on channel 40, which is from sutton coldfield I think, so I know box is ok. Any help would be much appreciated. Using a humax T2. Thanks

since october I have been having been having pixalilation on my screen it appears to be weekdays from around 6.30 am till 8am and then around 5pm till 9/10 pm then weekends throughout the day. This suggests it's during out of working hours or school hours. I use freeview and it seems to affect my tv over the others in the hosue which are newer. I have always had a good sugnal and we have the correct ariel...could this be 4g. I also thought maybe someone has recently started on ham radio but I can't see any ariels that would suggest that. I have re run the set up several times but to no avail any help would be greatly appreciated as not being able to watch tv is geting rather frustraiting now thanks in advance

I am in B61 0NN. We lost a few digital Freeview channels a little while ago due to changes in the Bromsgrove signal, but since the Xmas/New Year seem to have lost a substantial number of the rest. Have there been further changes and does anybody have any advice please? - Rescanning the frequencies has made no difference.
