Mat Iles: Plus to add to Michaels request for further info, as your query is one involving reception then its essential that info regarding your location be provided, this in the form of a post code or one from nearby, as knowledge of this will then enable access to the reception predictor as well as info on the transmitter covering your location.

Amanda Day: The frequency of the multiplex that carries ITV (Channel 3) was changed at Kings Weston on Wednesday 27th March 2013. You will need to re-tune your receiver to continue watching ITV. If a scan for channels does not automatically restore the missing services you will have to do a factory reset to delete the old frequency information from the receiver's memory. If you do a manual tune for the new frequency enter "40", then store the channels that are found.

I manage an elderly peoples extra care home and since the changes to the transmitter on the 27/3 none of my residents that only have freeview can get any BBC channels. The arial is a communal one and there have been no changes or alterations made to that. We've tried resetting all the televisions numerous times but to no avail. The schemes post code is BS7 0FD.

WJ Freeman: Communal systems can be filtered so as to only allow through the frequencies used by the designated transmitter.
The PSB2 multiplex (ITV, C4, C5 etc) from King's Western changed frequency last Wednesday, but the BBC one didn't. The PSB1 multiplex (which carries standard definition BBC services) changed frequency from Mendip, but the others did not.
With this in mind, I wonder if the aerial faces Mendip and not King's Western, both of which may be possibilities at the location.
For receivers with a manual tune function, BBC is on C49 from Mendip and C43 from King's Western. Having entered/selected the channel number, before pressing the button to scan/OK, wait and see if the receiver gives an indication of strength/quality as many receivers act as a signal meter before scanning.
To find out which transmitter is being used, in addition to observing the aerial, you may be able to view on the signal strength screen the UHF channel (frequency) being received for ITV. For Mendip it is C54 and for King's Western it is C40.
Either way, if it is a communal aerial and it is that which is the issue then the only thing to do is contact the party responsible for it.

I live in the Henleaze area [BS9 4]of Bristol (which apparently should be covered by Bristol King's Weston transmitter. Indeed this corresponds to the frequencies I am receiving on each of the Mux I receive. I don't know much about the history of digital switchover here etc, but I can see that there are several different types of aerial (a 'regular' one, which is positioned vertically, and a 'cross-headed' one).
I notice that while using my tv tuner stick at the front of the house, I pick up all the main Mux. However, at the back of the house, the reception of
COM 6 C60 at 785.8MHz is variable at best but several of the Welsh Mux from the Wenvoe TX are received albeit at relatively low levels.
Currently, there is no aerial point in my room. I am looking for an indoor aerial that will give me the best possible reception for my Elgato TV Tuner. Failing that, I would be interested in getting an external aerial (with some guidance - wideband etc, group etc).
Finally, I see that only Mendip will receive the newest HD channels in my area and was wandering what chance I have of receiving them. I apologise for the verbose questioning, but there are several points at issue here which I really need your attention with. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kind Regards
