treherne: It's possible the broadcasters don't know that there's a problem. Go to the BBC Reception page by clicking BBC - Reception problems (BBC Reception Test, next to your first post) and report the problem. (RG47SH)

Just a hint for everyone, have been receiving freeview from Brierley Hill for three years. Never really had any problems apart from poor reception on Mux 1 (Ch68). Always assumed this was because the channel was at the very end of the band!
However had my aerial and associated cabling renewed a few weeks ago! What a change, 100% signal strength and quality on all channels!
Therefore my advice, always get your aerial and cables checked if you are regularly suffering from poor reception. Brierley Hill hasn't got the best power output, but with a good quality aerial and cables, it can easily be received!

We had perfect reception until yesterday when we lost BBC1 & BBC2 + other channels completely. Have retuned but no signal. The aerial is on the roof. When will these channels return?

Virginia: Engineering work took place yesterday and is taking place between 9am and 6pm today (13th April 2011). If you retune when a transmitter is off the air it is often found that channels are deleted from the channel list. These can only be restored by retuning when the transmitter is back in service.
