The symbol shows the location of the Black Hill (North Lanarkshire, Scotland) transmitter which serves 940,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Black Hill (North Lanarkshire, Scotland) mast?

"Which Freeview channels does the Black Hill transmitter broadcast?"

This list is not up-to-date, e.g. the local LG mux broadcasts on C30 (456 MHz) not C51.

When some of the site is maintained it is confusing not to maintain all of it.

Rupert:

As per my post Sunday, 10 May 2020 on the previous page (83) of this transmitter section (but with COM8 omitted because of closure) -
Listing the correct UHF multiplex channels for Black Hill in the order PSB1-3, COMs4-7, Local -
They are C46, C43, C40, C41, C44, C47, C55, C30 (C meaning UHF channel).

I haven't checked every miniscule detail on this site, but AFAIK none of it is currently being maintained by the site owner who hasn't had time with all the changes resulting from the 700MHz clearance programme and broadcaster changes moving multiplexes etc. Even Engineering updates do not always appear, as the previous automated scanning of the BBC information doesn't work correctly due to changes on the BBC site, which made it even more difficult than before to obtain transmitter information manually. I for one have criticised the BBC, as have others, for this ridiculous change.

Updates to information are provided by the regular contributors in posts here usually in response to queries from posters, but sometimes when there are major changes. As already advised Platform management | Freeview is the place to go for the latest "information" (usually) rather than a technical query or help with reception issues.

Chris.SE: Yes, Chris, I understand all that now. Thanks for responding.

There's lots of useful and interesting information on this site - I have referred to it on and off for years. It's a real pity it's not being maintained.

I agree with you, it is a shame it's not being maintained, there's info here that you'd struggle to find anywhere else, if at all!

Mary ann McFadyen:

You are highly unlike to receive signals from the Black Hill transmitter in Arrochar but more likely from the Arrochar relay transmitter, however without a full postcode we can't confirm that.

That said, there has been some "Tropospheric Ducting" around causing interference, see Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | RTIS for a simplistic explanation.
It can be quite variable, come and go within seconds, minutes or hours. It has been particularly strong recently which can wipe out your reception.
The BBC have also reported that these conditions could have affected your reception on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

If you retuned when you had a loss of signals (this is never advised) then this usually just clears the correct tuning from your set, and this may be the reason you have no signals now.
Try a full retune again, now that signals should be more stable, and hopefully it will restore your programmes.
Post back with a full postcode if you still have problems.

Baffling that, in boness, we seem to ping from the Black Hill transmitter instead of the one across the water in Fife! Never been able to pick up all Freeview stations (all advertised Sony channels is a bugbear).

Kirsty : If you provide a full postcode we can see what the predicted reception is at your location. If you can see the transmitter across the water you may be able to simply turn your aerial around to point at it.

I assume Kirsty is referring to the Craigkelly transmitter (which she might not be able to see, but maybe could receive).
