JB, Thanks again, the full restore did not work. i cannot receive channels 11 or 82 either. my post code is G75 9JX.
You are right though i did have to buy an extension aerial lead. i have checked it for physical damage and have seen none. is there any way of proving the lead?

JB, I have recently retuned my TV without the extension aerial in the tv's original position and have managed to find all the channels that were previously missing. Will i be able to return the lead for a refund or exchange and could you please recomment a solution, as to wither a different lead will work or not?
Thanks!

Callum: What's near the lead? Try running it differently for test purposes. If it runs alongside others like HDMI then maybe interference is being picked up. Moving the two away from each other while observing the troublesome channel might give a clue.

Dave, thanks, i have run it well away from any cables that might induce interference such as mains cables.
The only other thing that i think may be causing the problem is that the signal is being lost through the lead as it is a 10m extension although most of it is coiled up? Do you think this may be causing the problem?
Thanks!

Callum: Re: extension cable, although you may have already tried this by now but unwind the cable and see if this makes any difference, because a coiled cable can create a form of tuned circuit and which can cause resonance to occur within the coil.

Hmmmm, there appears to be a small break internally, as the extension is now partly working. when the cable is moved slightly near the plug end, the signal appears and reappears. unfortunately i dont have a multimeter at home to test for continuity. this may be the problem guys, thanks!

Any ideas when testing of the new HD multiplexes is likely to start? Elsewhere is says com7 is being tested at Crystal Palace.

Thanks, Briantist. I assumed that was the date for commencement of service and testing would take place beforehand. I must have assumed wrongly.

Is the engineering works affecting video on all channels? or do I have a fault on my freeview box?
I have audio but no video on all channels, although the radio channels do show the logo of the station. I have an HD box, but no HD or SD.
