Clem Fisher: If the signal used to be OK, but now isn't, wouldn't that point to a problem with your system, rather than the transmitter? In which case, the extra booster is essentially a patch.

After several months of problem free viewing, severe interference and picture loss has returned to the BBC channels again in Brixham. If this is down to 4G mobiles, why is it allowed to continue. Any new service provider must ensure they do not cause interference to existing services before they start operating. This is an international requirement, so why is it not enforced by our national body?.

Phil White: Problems with interference from 4G mobile masts are addressed by an organisation funded by the mobile networks called AT800, who when contacted will check for any new 4G masts operating in the 800MHz band in your area and will send you a free filter if they think 4G interference is likely.

For the past 3 nights we have had no tv reception from around 8pm,although it is normal during the day from early morning.
What's the problem?
We live in Queen Elizabeth Drive-a stone throw from the main areal in Beacon Hill.

Noel Humphries: If you are loosing signal at the same time each night, the most likely explanation is that you're suffering from local interference caused by something operating on a timer (probably something with an electric motor such as a central heating pump, appliances such as washing machines, etc).

I have lost BBC4HD, a channel I loved and cannot see why it has been downgraded to only be powered at 1KW on COM8. Is there any future plan to make it more widely available or it that it and I can no longer access via Freeview? thanks

Pete Kettell: The Digital UK checker doesn't show any plans for COM8 to be increased from its current 1kW from Beacon Hill. COM7 & COM8 are temporary multiplexes and are expected to close in the next few years. If you put your postcode in to the Digital UK checker (see link below) and tick the detailed view box you will be able to see your predicted coverage for your location.

II live in Exmouth and have to receive my tv signal form Beacon Hill. I cannot receive channel4 HD on my PVR. Why is the power on Com 8 C34 so low, only 1KW. Will the power be increased in the future?

Dave Ayres: Channel 4 HD is broadcast on the PSB3 multiplex (which also carries BBC1 HD, BBC2 HD, ITV HD, Channel 5 HD & CBBC HD) at 20kW from Beacon Hill. Perhaps you meant Channel 4 +1 HD which is found on COM7 (currently broadcast at 7.3kW)? COM7 & COM8 are temporary services which are broadcast at lower power levels in order to avoid causing interference with other transmitters which use the same frequencies.
