John Emery: Only if you want to get rid of more than half of your channels. Sutton Coldfield provides the whole service, Ashbourne is a "Freeview Light" transmitter.

We have been receiving all Freeview channels with reasonable signal. Recently BBC1 and BBC2 semm to continually blank out for less than a second. This happens all the time.
Other channels on the same mix such as BBC News does display the problem.
Auto tune suggests BBC1 on channel 25 where some sites suggest this should be 22?
Can you help please. Flickering is very irritating!

Pat Smith: Not sure about your problem, but channel 25 from Ashbourne is "BBC A" multiplex which carries standard definition TV and radio. Channel 22 from Ashbourne is "BBC B" multiplex which is the HD one and carries ITV1 HD and Channel 4 HD as well.

Pat Smith: Not sure if this might be your issue as it's a low power affair. I see that the transmitter can be seen across the valley from your road:

The other thing is that your aerial should be vertically polarised, that is elements upwards, for Ashbourne.
From your location Sutton Coldfield can be picked up and it is the same direction (albeit 6 degrees different). However, aerials for it should be horizontally polarised (elements flat and parallel with the ground).

We have noticed recently that the subtitles are now not synchronising with the programmes. Why is this and what can be done to restore the situation.
Ps freesat box using a satellite disk works ok but the tv through the aerial does not.
