I live just outside Tayport in Fife and I can see the Angus transmitter from here. The bearing is 340 degrees magnetic. I can get all the BBC channels perfectly but all the ITV channels are very poor and keep breaking up. I have bought a new digital ariel for the switchover - and it is in the loft. I have tried re-tuning, and orientating the ariel with a compass and a digital signal meter but to no avail. Any ideas please?

David Wall: I can't really be sure without your full postcode.
However, loft aerials are poor for reliable Freeview reception. The best thing you could do is relocate the aerial to the roof where it can have a clear line-of-sight to the transmitter.

Liam Bradley: The predictions here are a bit unreliable - Digital UK's predictor shows you should get better results from the Angus transmitter than from Durris, the only alternative, particularly on the commercial channels (until they go to final channels and power in June, you would get no service).
As Angus and Durris have already switched over, yes, you should be able to get HD services, if you have a 'Freeview HD'-logo TV. If your TV says 'HD Ready' you will need an additional Freeview HD box.

Nathalie Daily: Digital UK currently predict that your reception of signals from Angus is expected to be poor. That is, it won't work reliably. This is expected to improve some time next year (it just says 2012). It isn't clear what's causing the problem - it's likely to be a distant transmitter using the same frequencies that will switch next year, though I can't see an obvious clash.
You might get better results from the Tay Bridge relay, but it only transmits the three public service multiplexes, rather than all six.
It shows that you might currently get a better service from the Craigkelly transmitter, but that this will actually get worse after switchover.
It is only a prediction, and the real situation is more complex than the computer model shows. A local installer may be able to provide more advice.

Hi there,
I live in DD5 3NA and I can only pick up PSB 1 & 2. The three COM signals do not appear to be picked up. I have used the Tay Bridge relay but today moved my aerial to the Angus transmitter - no change. My folks live further away in Carnoustie but they manage to receive all of the channels. It is only a loft aerial. Might this be the problem?

John: You are predicted to receive all six multiplexes from the Angus transmitter with a rooftop aerial. Loft aerials are not suitable for reliable Freeview reception.
