Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Winter Hill (Bolton, England) mast?

My problem is with DAB radio, not TV. The radio is unable to latch onto the clock so nothing works.
I cannot receive any of the BBC or World service broadcasts.

What is the frequency of Jazz FM from the Winter Hill transmitter. I have just purchased a new Roberts WM-202 radio which does not pick up Jazz FM, I have a little Goodmans DAB receiver which picks up Jazz FM no problem.

Colin Davies: Jazz FM is broadcast in the DAB+ standard on the SDL National multiplex on frequency block 11A (216.928MHz). Is the Roberts WM-202 able to receive any other stations on this multiplex such as Talk Radio or Planet Rock? If not, try the full scan option in the menu as 11A is outside the UK's original DAB allocation and isn't scanned by default on some radios.

Bob: Scan for stations and if you're within the coverage area TalkSport should appear in the station list. See your radio's manual for instructions.

We live in Formby, and whilst there is a DAB signal for Virgin Radio it is very flakey. We are unable to tune Virgin Radio on two DAB radios and when driving around the village the signal keeps dropping out. Is anything planned to improve the signal?

Ian Bryden: A number of new transmitters for the SDL multiplex which carries Virgin Radio were added in the autumn, however there has been no announcement of any further new transmitters.

Hello. Has TWR UK disappeared from Freeview? My LG smart TV suddenly came up with a message today saying the channel list had changed and persuaded me to perform an autotune which I naturally did. When I checked all my TV and radio channels, indeed TWR UK had disappeared. I even tried manual tuning and plugging in the Winter Hill transmitter channel numbers manually and same result, TWR-UK had disappeared. I am getting pretty good signal strength 95% and signal quality 98% so there's no problem there. Perhaps the radio station no longer sees it as viable to broadcast on Freeview anymore, who knows...
