Mounteagle (Highland, Scotland) DAB transmitter

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Mounteagle (Highland, Scotland) mast?
UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Willie Allan: In Elgin you are just on the edge of the "can easily be received indoors" for the Inverness DAB multiplex.
You may find that you need to use an external aerial mounted on the roof - something like this -
DAB Log Periodic 6 Element Aerial : Radio Aerials : Maplin
to get a signal.

Hello - I live in Bettyhill, north sutherland and have been getting MFR on DAB, in fact 29 stations very clearly using an outside DAB earial (70percent signal) - however now I cannot get MFR and can get BBC but signal is not so strong - has the signal been altered in any way? I have tried moving the aerial and tried another set but the MFR signal is no longer there!
Regards
William

William Sutherland: The BBC status report on Mounteagle shows no problem, although if you did lose signal from Mounteagle you could possibly receive the BBC national DAB multiplex from Rumster Forest or Eitshal, whereas the commercial muxes are only available from Mounteagle. If you select channel 11B manually does it show any sign of a signal being present? It might be worth checking that all cables and connectors are in order, including making sure that no strands of the outer braid have strayed and made contact with the inner core.

G maclean:
It could be that the solar panels are interfering with the reception of radio signals. The panels are electrical devices so contain conducting elements that may well disrupt what was previously good reception. As the panels are on your roof and fairly near to the receiving aerial the solution could be to have the aerial moved as far away from the solar panels as is feasible - or have the panels removed!
