This transmitter has no current reported problems

The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Millburn Muir (West Dunbartonshire, Scotland) transmitter.

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

There seems to have been either an engineering change or power down of the DAB transmitter that took place approx. 2-3 years ago at Milburn Muir West Dunbartonshire. From that point I have experienced a reduction in available channels and quality, can someone please advise if and when the service can be re-instated ?

Paul :

The Millburn Muir transmitter carries the BBC National DAB multiplex Block 12B: 225.648 MHz and a Local commercial multiplex (Glasgow) Block 11C: 220.352 MHz which has BBC Radio Scotland and 11 commercial stations. It doesn't carry any of the Commercial National multiplexes.

Depending on where you are, for example the Rosneath transmitter does have the D1 national multiplex on Block 12A: 223.936MHz in Scotland.

You mention an engineering change. You should not have any problems with any of the BBC stations. However if it's some of the commercial stations on the D1 multiplex you are now not getting, some of them have changed mode to DAB+. No stations on 12B or 11C are DAB+. So if your radio is older and DAB only, instead of DAB+ you'll be getting less commercial stations.

Put your postcode into the box at ukdigitalradio: Coverage and it'll tell you all the stations you should get.
If you are having problems with BBC stations use Issues with DAB | Help receiving TV and radio and follow it through to the end where you can contact BBC Engineering.

(As an aside your transmitter's BBCB HD Freeview multiplex had essential engineering 2 days ago but I don't see any reports to say DAB was affected).
